FOURTH PLACE FINISH FOR EDDIE MACDONALD AT LEE USA SPEEDWAY

Eddie MacDonald returned home and came close to achieving his goal to win on
the track that began his racing career when he was sixteen years old on the
family owned Lee USA Speedway facility. While most drivers would be happy to
finish fourth in the K&N Pro Series East 125 at Lee, the run for the Grimm
Construction Chevy was bittersweet.

“Obviously we wanted to win at home in front of family and friends and the
car was certainly fast enough but finishing fourth was our best run this
season so we are happy about that,” said the Rowley, Mass. veteran. “For the
last part of the race, Truex and I had a great battle going and were running
each other real clean but I guess he should have been protecting the bottom
instead of pushing me up the track. Wallace made a real aggressive move on
the bottom and used twelve tires instead of four to hold the bottom.
Unfortunately we were four of those tires.”

Kobyluck Rallies To Seventh Place Finish At Lee

Lee, N.H. (July 31, 2010): Matt Kobyluck and the Mohegan Sun Casino race team had their work cut out for them in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East 125 at Lee USA Speedway Friday night. After bottoming out in qualifying, the team knew they were going have to pit early and come up through from the back of the pack. Despite more than a handful of wrecks, Kobyluck was able to stay out of trouble and take home an impressive seventh place finish without a scratch on the No. 40 Mohegan Sun Casino Chevrolet.

“The car is in one piece, and I don’t think there’s one other car if you walk down this pit area that’s clean. We don’t have any bangs, no dents, no tore-up stuff,” said Kobyluck. “The car was really good right up through to the end. When the temperature got cooler we lost a little forward bite, and we had to hold on for what we could get.”

SEVENTH PLACE FINISH FOR MACDONALD AT LIME ROCK PARK

Eddie MacDonald matched his two best finishes in the K & N Pro Series East
this season with a seventh place run in the Grimm Construction Chevy in the
K & N 100. After starting 13th on the grid for the 66 lap event over the
road course at Lime Rock, MacDonald moved steadily ahead to post his fourth
top ten finish.

“We always qualify 13th,” joked MacDonald.  “It doesn’t seem to matter what
we do, we qualify 13th, so we know where we will start and go from there.
The car was really good during the race and we were able to drive it into
the top ten quickly and stay there. It got a little tight in the turns but
it was okay. We were a little too aggressive with the brakes when we set the
car up in the shop and I kept locking them up in the turns. Eventually it
ended up costing a couple of spots at the end but over5all we had a good
day.”

MACDONALD REBOUNDS FOR TENTH PLACE RUN AT NHMS

Eddie MacDonald came from 21st on the starting grid in the K&N Pro Series
East New Hampshire 125 at NHMS to post a solid tenth place finish. The New
England Mechanical Overlay sponsored Chevy did not have the typical
qualifying run MacDonald and the Grimm Construction Racing Team has come to
expect but the Rowley, Mass. veteran knew he had a fast car.

“We will be just fine for the race, “said MacDonald after the run. “The car
is fast but the nose just wouldn’t drop down but I know it will be good. We
know how to get around this place and we will be ready to make any
adjustments if necessary. We just have to be careful to avoid anything that
happens but we are not going to be patient and sit back. We are going to
go.”
