2011 Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour – Twin State Recap

After a very intense and fast moving thundershower roared over the pit area in Claremont, New Hampshire the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour took to the tight 1/3 speedway for the first of two practice sessions.

With a large group of the field being separated by only 2-3 tenths of a second a lap the large field was sure to put on an impressive show under the lights. 17 tour style minis packed into the pit area for the NEMST’s second visit to Twin State Speedway.

NEMST – Star Speedway Recap

While the weather was not near as nice as opening day at Beech Ridge the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour rolled into the newly reopened Star Speedway in Epping, NH. Fighting a bleek forecast many teams from all over New England made the trek to the southern New Hampshire speedway.

Practices started off early and had much excitement with many teams having trouble with mechanical problems including Emerson Cayer having a broken steering rack. As the cars rolled through pre race technical inspection teams drew for their heat starting position. Two heat races were held for the 18 mini stocks at Star with the Volkswagens showing the pace. Calvin Rose won the first heat and Loren Smith negotiated the win from the second heat.

North East Mini Stock Tour Kicks off their 3rd season of Racing.

The North East Mini Stock Tour is now in its third season. With NEMST 1st race of the season now in the books, as Zach Audet, driver of the number 19 car took the checkered flag at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The next stop for the tour is Star Speedway on May 14th. So we stopped by and made time with tour president and founder Robert Guptill.

First Time Winner at Beech Ridge

For the first event under the new Texas Roadhouse nameplate the North East Mini Stock Tour had a full field racing n front of a packed grandstand on the nicest weather weekend in northern New England so far this year.

Twenty mini stock cars from five New England states showed up at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine early Saturday morning for the Texas Roadhouse NEMST season opener. It was clear early in the first practice session that a close field of cars had arrived with eight drivers within .2 of a second lap times.

North East Mini Stock Tour Signs Texas Roadhouse as the New Title Sponsor

The North East Mini Stock Tour (NEMST) is in final preparations to start their third full season of competition. Opening day for the exciting tour is slated for April 30 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine. Tour founder Bob Guptill and his officials have been very busy finalizing plans and working on some special promotions and offers.

Texas Roadhouse restaurants of New England have signed on to be the NEMST’s title sponsor for the 2011 season. The grassroots growing efforts of the NEMST match up perfectly with the basic legendary principles of Texas Roadhouse. Texas Roadhouse will be offering free entrée passes to all season registered drivers this season. There will also be many publicity and autograph sessions available in many of the restaurants various locations throughout the New England region. “The huge cross marketing opportunities are really going to help the NEMST jump to the next step and help make this the premier racing series in New England. NEMST in Final Preparation for Northeast Motorsports Expo

The North East Mini Stock Tour will be attending the 23rd annual Northeast Motorsports Expo presented by Mainely Motorsports in Augusta on January 7,8, and 9. The NEMST will have Emerson Cayer’s Ford Mustang on display. Cayer was the inaugural champion for the NEMST in 2009 with a runner up finish in the 2010 season.

Plenty of merchandise, information materials, and registration forms will be on hand for the show. The NEMST will also release its final schedule for the 2011 season. NEMST promoter Bob Guptill will be at the show all weekend to answer any questions about the upcoming season anyone may have.
