EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard and her Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels team are gearing up to make the final trip of the season north of the border for the ACT/PASS Chaudière Twin 200’s at Vallée-Jct., QC’s Autodrome Chaudière.
This will be the 18-year olds first trip to this ¼ mile, high banked oval. Nonetheless, her veteran crew chief, Neal Woodward, has had some experience here previously, and will base the initial car set-up on something similar to what they ran at White Mountain Motorsports Park. From there they will adjust it as needed but Packard knows that it will be a challenge to get a handle on the track and the set-up in the three allotted 30 minute practices they have. “I have never had the chance to run here but I hear it’s a fun place to race and I am really looking forward to it,” Packard said. “Practice will definitely be important to get a feel for the track and getting the car set-up to run well there. Having just raced at Thunder Road, another high banked oval, I feel that we are somewhat prepped for this race.” (more…)

Barre, VT – Thunder Road and American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced the disqualification of Brandon Gray from the Allen Lumber Street Stock feature at the 37th Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic held Sunday, September 6.
Gray crossed the finish line first in the 25-lap feature but was found to have illegal engine components during post-race technical inspection. These parts have been confiscated by ACT.

PASS Sets March Dates For 2016 South Super Late Model Openers
CHARLOTTE, NC (September 8) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry announced late today that the 2016 season for the PASS South Super Late Models will begin at two familiar Carolina speedways. The South’s longest running and most prestigious Super Late Model championship will begin on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Ron Barfield’s Dillon Motor Speedway with the 11th Annual South Carolina Clash. Then, on Saturday, March 26, 2016, PASS will make its annual trek to Hickory Motor Speedway for one of the Spring’s biggest short track events, the 11th Annual Easter Bunny 150. Both races will include optional practice for competitors on the Friday preceding each event and support divisions will be announced in the coming weeks.

The New Hampshire driver is looking for his fifth win of 2015
(Epping, NH) – As the year winds down, the goal for young racer Derek Griffith becomes clearer. The Hudson, NH native is looking to secure his first Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) Championship.This weekend the GSPSS will invade Star Speedway as part of the 50th Annual Star Classic and will stage a 100 lap event on Sunday September 12, 2015.
Griffith, the driver of the No. 12 MOM’s of Manchester/LCM Racing Toyota Camry leads the second place point runner of Barry Gray by 30 points entering the second to last points counting event. “We have two events left; we are very excited to be racing as part of the prestigious Star Classic this year. Vallée-Jct., QC – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S and Série ACT head to Vallée-Jct., QC’s Autodrome Chaudiere this Saturday, September 12 for the Chaudiere Twin 200s. The ACT Late Models and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models will both run 200-lap main events in the doubleheader for the two series.
The ACT combination event is the inaugural point-counting race for the ACT U.S. Tour at Chaudiere. Select U.S. drivers previously visited the speedway for the “Showdown at Chaudiere” invitational event held from 2008-2012, but many Tour regulars will be making their debut at the 1/3-mile oval. Even drivers such as two-time ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. will have their work cut out for them to get up to speed.

EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Fighting an ill-handing car throughout the entire race, Emily Packard was able to bring home a 15th place finish in a race that saw 9 caution flags in the 37th Coca Cola Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road International Speedbowl this past weekend.
The 18-year old East Montpelier native was consistently in the top ten on each of the speed sheets and felt that she would have a decent car for the heat. Packard started her Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels car in the 8th position of the second heat race, but wasn’t able to make much movement forward. “We had a tough heat race,” Packard said. “We weren’t able to get into the preferred line, and the car wasn’t exactly how we wanted it, being a little snug in the center.” She would end up finishing the heat race in 8th place, and found herself running the consi to make the feature.
