After a two race hiatus, Eddie MacDonald and the Grimm Racing Team took the green flag in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in the Visit Hampton Va. 175 at Langley Speedway to post an eighth place finish. Despite an unscheduled pit stop on caution lap 90, Eddie Mac powered back from the rear of the field to post the solid finish.
The .396 of a mile oval proved to be tough to negotiate with the veteran driver saying, “We were running in the ninth position and trying to take it easy but we were getting bounced around a lot. The body took quite a beating and I thought I might have a right front tire going down so we decided to pit. The tire was okay but the toe was definitely knocked out. I probably should have stayed out but I couldn’t take the chance. It cost us a lot of positions but it was something we had to do the. The race was 175 laps so we thought we could get back up there.”

Barre, VT – Second generation driver Brett Gervais of Island Pond earned his first career Thunder Road Late Model win during Harvest Equipment night on Sunday, June 22. Thunder Road has not seen a repeat winner yet this season as there have been fifteen different winners across all three divisions so far in 2014.
Gervais followed Trampas Demers up to the front after starting in the fifth position in the 50 lap Late Model event. Demers got to the point on lap 12 with Gervais right on his back bumper. Just seven laps later Gervais made his move to the inside and the pair banged door-to-door coming out of turn four. Gervais got the advantage and cruised to the win over the final 30 laps. Demers held off John Donahue to take second. Jason Corliss finished fourth followed by Eric Chase. Jim Morris, Joey Laquerre, Eric Badore, Derrick O’Donnell and Dave Pembroke completed the top ten.

Hudson, NH – Hometown racer Derek Griffith put on a show during the Granite State Pro Stock Series’ Gate City Classic from the fast ¼-mile oval of Hudson International Speedway in Hudson, NH.
Griffith started 8th in his heat race and ran into trouble in the early going. Derek ended up finishing near the tail of the field in his heat race. This relegated Griffith to start 19th in the 20 car pro-stock field.
The No. 12 MOM’s of Manchester/LCM Racing/Tyngsboro Motors Toyota Camry did not waste any time picking off cars, one-by-one during the 100 lap event.
Derek was running in the top-5 for much of the race and took over the lead on lap 34 and led the field for a number of laps. This was to the delight of his hometown fans.
