Joey Doiron Opens North season with runner up

Project1Oxford, ME – Joey Doiron was able to take his second place starting spot and dominate the season opener for the Pro All Stars Series North in the #73 Wild Willy’s Burgers Chevrolet on his way to an eventual second place finish at Oxford Plains Speedway. After winning the season opener a year ago at Beech Ridge, Doiron was confident he would have a car that could contend for another win after a great practice session in the morning.

It wasn’t long before Doiron got to show just how good of a car he had, as he took the win in the second heat race very convincingly. With that, he would start from the outside of the front row in the feature event, lined up alongside fellow Dale Shaw Racecars driver Brad Babb.

On Sunday afternoon at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway, Clark and the #77 team started out their 2013 season with a victory in the Ripley and Fletcher Ford 150 PASS North event. By coming out of the gate with a victory, Clark is already hoping that this might be the season where he can score his first career PASS North championship.

“We were pretty pleased with last year. We just fell short of a goal there,” said Clark. “We worked hard on things over the winter. Sitting at home and waiting to race since October has been tough. Winning was a good way to get out there and knock the rust off.” (more…)

PASS North Series: Mulkern Racing
Oxford Plains Speedway Race Report

OXFORD, Maine – Bobby Timmons III of Windham, Maine, posted his best career PASS North Series result when he finished fifth in the Ripley & Fletcher Ford 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Timmons led a two-car Mulkern Racing effort, qualifying 11th in the 34-car field and running inside the Top-5 throughout the second half of the event in the No. 48 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep/Timmons Machine Dodge. Following an eighth-place finish at Oxford Plains last October, Timmons now has Top-10 finishes in each of his only two career PASS North Series starts. It looked like the team would have more than one car in the Top-5 at the checkered flag, but Scott Mulkern of Falmouth, Maine, blew a right front tire while running fourth just 10 laps from the finish.
