BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 2 Western Star/Alliance Parts Ford Mustang — VICTORY LANE INTERVIEW
WHAT KIND OF STATEMENT WAS THAT TODAY? “We’ve had a lot of great races this year with the 2 car, but we just haven’t really went out and kind of dominated a race. Talking to Jeremy Bullins and like, ‘Man, what do we need to get to that next level? We’re right there. We need to go out and just dominate a race,’ and that’s what today was for us with the Western Star/Alliance Parts Ford Mustang. I’m really proud of my team and the effort that they gave today. A great race car and to all of Team Penske, thank you. Its so great to be racing back in front of fans again. It feels like forever, so welcome back, guys.”
Coby Takes Control Late for White Mountain Showdown Win
Hill Earns First Career Late Model Victory
N. Woodstock, NH — Milford, CT’s Doug Coby began his drive for a seventh NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship in earnest by capturing the White Mountain Showdown 200 at North Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 1. Coby dove underneath polesitter Jon McKennedy to get the lead on the 135th circuit and then held on through a late restart to pick up his 30th career NASCAR Modified victory and first as an owner-driver.
Coby took the green flag fifth on the 28-car starting grid and was content to maintain his position early as McKennedy and outside polesitter Chris Pasteryak duked it out at the front. McKennedy was able to keep the top spot through a trio of cautions for single-car spins spread over the first half of the race. When the field went back to full song on lap 94 following the third yellow, Coby ducked underneath Lisbon, CT’s Pasteryak for the second spot.
Fantastic Finish: Harvick, Hamlin Set to Renew Rivalry that Fueled an Unforgettable Finish Last Season
LOUDON, N.H. – All eyes will be on New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend when New England’s first major sporting event since the pandemic, the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301, goes green at “The Magic Mile.” If last season’s dramatic finish is any indication, fans are in for a wild summer showdown on Sunday.
Defending race winner Kevin Harvick started last year’s event mid-pack after a 14th place qualifying effort. Behind the wheel of his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, Denny Hamlin took the green flag in 23rd, but quickly raced his way into the top 10.
PASS SUPER LATE MODELS AND PASS MODS AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY, GROVETON, NH ON FRIDAY, JULY 24, 2020
Groveton, NH – Johnny Clark reminded everyone in attendance Friday night at Riverside Speedway why he is a six time champion as he dominated the Pro all Stars Series first visit to the 1/4 mile since 2018. Clark, who has not been first to the checkers since 2016, fended off challenges from several drivers but was never seriously challenged in the 150 lap tilt. “It’s been a long time since I have had a car that good,” he exclaimed in victory lane, “it was fun, but there was oil or something on the track those last few laps and we almost slipped and gave it away.”
As dominating as Clark was leading the entire 150 lap contest, it wasn’t as easy as it looked. “We made wholesale changes after the first practice, and it was just terrible. I knew, we all knew after the second practice we had to put it back. It was not easy, there were a lot of changes. I’m glad we did!”

By Gary Dutton
CLAREMONT, N.H. – In one of the best back-and-forth races of the summer, Chris Riendeau won his first Street Stock feature of the summer Friday, July 23, at Claremont Motorsports Park, outdueling four-time winner Dave Greenslit who, none-the-less, stayed comfortably atop the points parade.
While Pro Stocker Angelo Belsito earned the night’s biggest pay check by topping the all-green GSPSS 100-lapper, it was Pure Stock king Kodi Sabins who, again, provided the night’s biggest excitement, earning his track-high sixth victory lap as he crossed the stripe inches ahead of Robert Shaw.
Aaron Fellows stayed undefeated, Matt Boucher won for the first time in the Mini Stocks, and Paul Colburn romped to his second Pure Stock win of the summer Friday, while, in a battle of New England racing family royalty, Brett Meservey topped Randy Cabral in the Pro-4 Mods.
