LOUDON, N.H. (Dec.15, 2011) -New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s Gift of Lights event joined in the effort to end hunger this holiday season, by donating more than 11,000 pounds of food to the Loudon, N.H. Food Pantry this week. That’s equal to the weight of three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars racing around the 1.058-mile oval.
Thanks to the 8,000 cars that have driven through the electric wonderland of light displays and brought food, “The Magic Mile” is bringing Christmas cheer to those who need it most.

AUBURN – George Campbell of Turner will debut his new book, “Busch North Scene: The Busch Years 1987-2007,” at a book launch party Saturday, December 17 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn.
Campbell will be available to sign copies of his book from 2 to 4 p.m. along with two-time NASCAR Champion Brad Leighton, who wrote the foreword for the book. There will be other NASCAR personalities from the region at the event available to sign copies as well.

Barre, VT – Montpelier’s Dave Pembroke was honored as the 2011 “King of the Road” at the 2011 Thunder Road Banquet of Champions on Saturday, December 10 at the Barre Elks Club. Pembroke put together one of the biggest comebacks in Thunder Road history to claim his second career Late Model title. During their first season in a Ford powered ride, Pembroke and his family team erased an 80 point deficit with back-to-back feature wins at mid-season. The Vermont State Employees Credit Union/Lamoille Valley Ford team earned the first Thunder Road track title for Ford in over twenty years. The Barre Elks Club was sold out with team members, officials and fans on hand to honor Pembroke, who claimed a $5,000 point fund check.

LOUDON, N.H. (Dec. 5, 2011) – Christmas came early for 47 New England area organizations today, as New Hampshire Motor Speedway and the N.H. Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities distributed more than $150,000 to aid local children in need.
“Today was my Christmas,” said Cheryl LaPrade, director of the N.H. Chapter of SCC. “I am really excited that we could raise as much money as we did and that will impact so many children throughout the region. It was so special to start the holiday season by helping these organizations achieve their mission.”

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian US Tour (ACT) 2012 schedule will feature ten (10) point-counting events at nine different tracks. In addition, there will be four ‘special’ non-point counting events that most ACT teams will put on their 2012 calendars.
Lee USA Speedway in Lee, New Hampshire will continue the tradition of opening the ACT Late Model race season with the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

CONCORD, N.C. – Austin Theriault finished 12th in the PASS-sanctioned Mason-Dixon Meltdown 200 at Concord Motorsports Park on Saturday, wrapping up an impressive debut with Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) this month.
Theriault made his first start with the team in the crash-marred World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga., two weeks earlier.
“The opportunity to race for BKR is something not a lot of people can say they have,” said Theriault, 17, of Fort Kent, Maine. “Just being able to show your talent on the southern stage is something a lot of people want to be able to do. Anything we can do in the future with (Gary Crooks and Wayne Setteringon) at BKR will be great for us.
