Waterbury, VT – American Canadian Tour (ACT) officials announced today the 2011 Série Castrol Edge season opener on Saturday, May 21 has been changed from Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, Quebec, to the 1/3 mile Autodrome Chaudière in Vallée-Jonction, Quebec. The 100 lap St-Eustache event has been moved to Saturday, June 4.
The two speedways agreed to switch their opening Série Castrol Edge dates last week. It will be the first time since 2007 that the Série Castrol Edge season opener will not be held at the fast ½ mile of Autodrome St-Eustache. Autodrome Chaudière will hold the opener for the first time in Série Castrol Edge history as part of their 20th season celebration. Both tracks have three ACT events scheduled for the 2011 season including the Showdown at Chaudière all-star event in September. (more…)

Veteran Racer ends winless streak at Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway – Anderson SC (3/12) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model season kicked off at Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway ) on Saturday, March 12th with the Electric City 150. Durham North Carolina’s Jay Fogleman, who watched his son Tate win the Bandolero feature earlier in the program, drove his #4 machine from the seventh starting position to the lead and on to the win, his first since 2009.
“You never like to go a year without a win,” said Fogleman. “We had two or three close calls last year. To start this season with a win with all the new stuff we have going on, I just can’t say enough. We are just looking forward to this year.” (more…)

CHARLOTTE, NC (3/5) – The winter months are hard for everybody. Weather extremes and fewer hours of daylight are just a few of the reasons people choose to stay inside at this time of year. For race fans and competitors winter can be downright excruciating. Not only is it cold outside, but there’s no racing to be found anywhere.
But, with Spring just a few days away, the smell of burning rubber and race fuel abounds as Pro All Star Series (PASS) South Super Late Model teams begin testing at short tracks throughout the Southeast. Teams will soon put together all the things they’ve learned during the off season when the 2011 PASS South season begins on March 11-12 with the Electric City 150 at the Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway. Waterbury, VT – After competing in one of the closest Rookie of the Year battles in American Canadian Tour (ACT) history, Windham, Maine’s Brad Babb and Fort Kent, Maine’s Austin Theriault are ready for 2011. The two finished just three points apart in the 2010 Rookie of the Year standings.
Babb came out on top of the standings and claimed the 2010 ACT Rookie of the Year honors after capturing his first career top five in the season finale at Waterford (CT) Speedbowl. With the help of his crew chief and father, Bobby, a former ACT competitor, he also earned an impressive sixth place in the 2010 ACT standings.
