Ray Christian III wins the Pro Stock portion of the Star Classic in the Vynorius Pile Driving 100
It was all fenders all the time on opening night of the 54th annual Star Classic and Ray Christian III was the man to beat. Every time the Granite State Pro Stock Series was on the track it was the black 93 at the top of the charts and leading the way to the checkers. Joey Doiron did all he could but wound up a disappointing second and Jimmy Renfrew, Jr. came up two spots short from another win at his home track.
Claremont NH – DJ Shaw continued his mastery of Claremont Speedway going two for two in the Rocky Ridge 150. The Conway NH driver took home the richest purse of the season for the Granite State Pro Stock Series for the second year in a row.
The evening’s competition began with the Crazy Horse Racing race for the pole and once again it was Joey Doiron setting fast time. Doiron has become the master of time trialing in 2019 and when asked how, he said “we found a couple of things we were doing wrong so we changed what we do”. “The big thing is what we do with our tires before time trials” he added.
Exciting Innovations Announced As PASS Looks To Lanier Return
NAPLES, ME (August 29) – In June, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced that the PASS National Super Late Model Championship would be decided at Georgia’s Lanier Raceplex on November 15-16. The Lanier National 200 for the PASS Super Late Models will be 200 laps, paying $6000 to win and $1000 to start. The starting grid will be set by heat races in which their lineups will be determined by using last practice speeds. And, for the first time ever, the pre-race tech will be set by the order that entries are received, giving teams longer to prepare for practice and the race. The first entrants for the Lanier National 200 are North Carolina’s, Tate Fogleman, New Hampshire drivers, Bryan Kruczek and Gabe Brown, and Ontario, Canada’s, JP Josiasse.
Oxford, ME – Newmarket, NH’s Bryan Kruzcek became the first repeat winner in the 2019 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) championship season by capturing the Oxford Plains 150 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, August 24. Kruczek took the lead from West Burke, VT’s Jesse Switser just past the halfway mark and never gave up the top spot on his way to an ACT season sweep at the historic 3/8-mile oval.
Short Track Stars Look To Stop Pollard In This Weekend’s Oxford 250
NAPLES, ME (August 21) – With just days left before on track activity begins at Oxford Plains Speedway for the 46th Annual Oxford 250 and hundreds of campers already dot the property, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model teams are making final preparations for one of the biggest events on the racing calendar. While many eyes will be on Georgia’s Bubba Pollard as he attempts to defend his Oxford 250 crown, the short track star might not enter Sunday’s race as the favorite. 2017 winner Curtis Gerry of Waterboro, ME, has concentrated all his efforts on competing at Oxford Plains this season, with several wins in weekly competition and a PASS North win there as well. Championship contender, Garrett Hall sits just 15 points behind the 3-time PASS North titlist, DJ Shaw, largely in part due to his two wins at Oxford Plains earlier this year. But, after advancing from the last chance race a year ago before going on to win the 250, Pollard is still the driver many feel will be the one to beat in 2019.
