Curtis Gerry wins PASS Super Late Model race at Oxford Plains Speedway, Travis Benjamin earns second series championship

Oxford, ME — Curtis Gerry of Waterboro nailed down his second PASS Super Late Model win this season at Oxford Plains Speedway Saturday afternoon, while his closest on-track rival, Travis Benjamin of Belfast, riding a runner-up finish to nail down his second career PASS North championship.

Gerry, who added his name to the lists of Legends by winning the 44th Annual Oxford 250 back in August, had the best season of his career hot on the heels of what was previously his best year ever in 2016.

The Saco House of Pizza 7 and Gerry methodically cruised into contention from 12th starting position as Ben Rowe, Tracy Gordon, Dave Farrington and Joey Doiron took turns setting the race pace, with Brandon Barker also a notable early factor.

White Mountain Motorsports Park score is second PASS Super Late Model win this season for Derek Griffith

North Woodstock, NH — Derek Griffith of Hudson, New Hampshire raced to his second Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model victory of the season Saturday night in the 150-lap event topping the racing car at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire.

To earn this trip to the winners’ circle Griffith needed to take command of the race from Ben Rowe, the reigning PASS Super Late Model National Champion who is no stranger to victory lane at the high-banked, quarter-mile oval.

Griffith’s LCM Motorsports 12 was chased under the checkered flag by Travis Benjamin of Morrill, Maine. Benjamin vaulted into the PASS North Super Late Model championship points lead with his runner-up finish aboard the Petit Motorsports 7.

Spectacular PASS Super Late Model score for hometown racer Garrett Hall at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway

Scarborough, Maine – Garrett Hall of Scarborough prevailed in spectacular fashion Sunday afternoon in Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model competition, just beating out nine-time PASS champion Ben Rowe of Turner in a wild finish that saw Hall’s car need a tow to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway victory lane.

 

Hall, who was seeming unbeatable on long green flag runs during the second half of the 150-lap race, saw a trio of late-race restarts put both Rowe and the reigning PASS Super Late Model champion, DJ Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire, in contention.

Glen Luce best in PASS North action at Lee USA Speedway, 44th Oxford 250 up next

Lee, NH – Glen Luce of Turner, Maine pulled away from the field in the late stages of Friday night’s Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model 150-lapper at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, New Hampshire to post his second win on the touring series this season.

Luce started from 14th position, patiently making steady progress through the field as Scarborough, Maine’s Garrett Hall set the pace for the first sixty laps.  Six-time PASS North champion Johnny Clark took over and looked like a possible winner before Luce and 12th-place starter Travis Benjamin moved into contention with about 30 laps to go.

PASS North Back On Track This Weekend At Lee USA Speedway

NAPLES, ME (August 3) – In their last opportunity to race prior to the 44th Annual Scott’s Recreation Oxford 250 presented by Fastway Trailer Products, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models will be back on track this Friday night at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire. Coming in to this weekend’s action, seven drivers are within striking distance for the championship. With his win last weekend at Oxford Plains, two-time 250 winner, Travis Benjamin, has taken over the points lead, while Glen Luce, Ben Rowe, and DJ Shaw are all within 50 points of the leader. Dave Farrington, Jr., six-time PASS North champion, Johnny Clark, and New Hamsphire’s own, Derek Griffith, are all still in the thick of the fight of one of the championship contenders has a hiccup at Lee USA Speedway this weeken.

Oxford Plains Speedway score is second straight PASS North Super Late Model victory for Travis Benjamin

Oxford, Maine – Travis Benjamin nailed down his second consecutive Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model victory Sunday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Benjamin, in the Petit Motorsports 7, needed most of the race distance to mount a challenge to Cassius Clark of Farmington, who dominated most of the race driving the Nova Scotia-based King Racing entry. Benjamin moved alongside Clark for a late-race restart and was able to prevail from the outside groove.
