Scarborough, Maine- After taking a two week break from competition, David Oliver returned in grand style on Saturday night by winning the 40 lap Pro Series feature race at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The Scarborough Maine oval brought the NASCAR Whelan All American Series and the Valenti Modified Racing Series together for a show in front of a big crowd of fans. (more…)

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., finished sixth in the American Canadian Tour 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 30. Hoar started the feature on the outside pole after an impressive 9th-to-4th-place run in his heat race, and he cleared the polesitter on the first lap and went on to lead 43 laps. He would eventually be passed, and settle into the Top-5 for the rest of the race as his handling continued to go away. In the closing laps, Hoar battled with teammate Austin Theriault to give RPM Motorsports two cars in the Top-6 at the checkered flag.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, continued his strong mid-summer performance with a fifth-place finish in the American Canadian Tour 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 30. Theriault’s first ACT Late Model Tour Top-5 of the season comes one week after his impressive podium finish in the TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine – where he became the youngest Top-3 finisher in the 38-year history of the Oxford 250. The RPM Motorsports team will travel to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Tuesday, August 2, to begin testing for the ACT All-Star Challenge, which will be held during IZOD IndyCar weekend at the track on August 12-14. Theriault hopes the momentum of two strong Late Model finishes will continue through the ACT All-Star Challenge. (more…)

Scarborough,Maine-On a night with the American Canadian Tour visiting for a 150 lap race, three drivers chose the big stage and large crowd to post their first ever feature wins at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Whelan All American Series took to the track first led by the 40 lap Pro Series feature race. Bob Gahan jumped into the lead from the pole position with young Joey Doiron in hot pursuit. Doiron moved around Gahan on the third circuit but Gahan would not go down easily. Gahan went back in front on lap 9 and held the position through lap 11 when Doiron went pack to the lead. A late race caution flag on lap 35 gave Aaron Ricker a shot at Doiron for the win but Doiron got a better restart and led the final laps for his first win. Ricker was second with Dan McKeage third. David Oliver and Bob Gahan were fourth and fifth place finishers.
Not to be outdone by Joey Doiron, Marcel Chauvette won his first career race following 35 laps of Sports Series racing. Andy Field led the field to the green flag and paced the field for the first 8 laps before Rob Herrick powered past him. Marcel Chauvette moved to the second position on lap 11 and quickly took to the inside oh Herrick to take over the lead one lap later. Racing stayed under green flag conditions for the remainder of the race and Chauvette was able to open up a comfortable lead to take the win. Carey Martin, filing the seat in the #85 this week got stuck in traffic and could not clear until the final laps. Martin finished second with Corey Bubar third. Dave Langlais and Rusty Poland were fourth and fifth at the finish.
