Evan Beaulieu Career Best Second In Beech Ridge Pro Series

IMG_10Durham, ME – Evan Beaulieu scored his best ever finish in a Super Late Model on Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway when he led several laps and crossed the line second. Beaulieu, 20, is a rookie in the division this year driving the Hancock Lumber No. 56 out of the Dan McKeage stable. After the race, the smile on the driver’s face said it all.

“What an awesome night this was,” Evan said proudly. “We actually got this car dialed in and I was able to just run consistent laps all night long, my crew has done a great job this year making gains on this car and I’m proud we got such a great run in. I wish we wouldn’t of gotten that caution or could’ve had a longer run at the end, it’s taken us a few laps all year to get up to speed on restarts, but congrats to Bobby (Timmons) on the win, glad to see him get one.”

Wiscasset2013logoBy Lisa Maguire

Last Saturday at Wiscasset Speedway was bright and sunny. Fans gathered at the Speedway for the planned Fan Appreciation Day festivities. There was a car show at the speedway, with numerous cars both old and new. The car show entrants also had the opportunity to parade some laps around the speedway in their cars. There were kids bicycle races on the race track during intermission. Additionally, the drivers gathered on the track to greet fans and sign autographs prior to race time. Presented Saturday were its group one lineup of divisions: Prostock, Super Stock, New England 4-cylinder Prostock, and Thunder 4. After the races were completed the fans cheered as a display of fireworks brightened the Wiscasset sky.

First on the track were the Thunder 4’s for a fifteen lap feature race. Pete McCollett was in the pole position in the No. 20. Behind him were Adam Armstrong of the 31X and Leandra Martin driving the No. 31. There was plenty of action and numerous leader changes right from the start. MULKERN RACING: Bobby Timmons Wins NASCAR Feature At Beech Ridge

Mulkern Racing Driver Capitalizes On Late Restart For First Win Of ’13

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Bobby Timmons III of Windham, Maine, won the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series main event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, August 17, using a late-race restart to score his first 40-lap Pro Series feature win of the season.

The victory was the second of his career for Timmons at Beech Ridge.

“The last four or five weeks have been so up and down and rough for us. I’m glad we finally figured out the Hoosier tire,” Timmons said. “The car wasn’t really that great tonight, but I think with the ACT (Late Model Tour) rubber on the track, it wasn’t about who was the best. It was who was the least worst.”

Timmons started in the top half of the field and rode inside the Top-3 for the first 30 laps of the event as the race went caution-free until Lap 35. Race leader Tyler King brought out the only yellow flag of the night when his engine expired, setting up Timmons on the inside of the front row for the ensuing restart.
