OXFORD, Maine – Oxford Plains Speedway somehow won the weather lottery again Wednesday night, and five of the eight feature winners in the opening round of the Acceleration Series benefited from that same brand of luck.
Without season points to rely upon for handicapping purposes, starting positions were determined by blind draw. Competitors fortunate enough to pluck a front-row pill from the bag wound up winning five of the main events.

The NEW SPIRIT of Unity Raceway was blessed by Mother Nature with a bright and sunny day. The Sportsman 108 saw 14 competitors hit the track. The new purple #73 of Mark Dodge of Anson took home the checkered flag in the first heat race. The second heat race was won by the 2007 Unity Raceway Sportsman Point Champion, Brad Bellows, of South China. These two drivers would go head to head for many laps in the feature event. Both drivers would end the event with mechanical failures looming. Bellows would finish first with Dodge following in second.. New comer to Unity Raceway, Dan McKeage would take home the third place trophy.

(Hermon, Me) It started out as a beautiful day, but the rains came at the beginning of the first feature race and despite hopes that rain would be short lived, the showers were intense enough that the track could not be dried, effectively bring to a halt racing at Maine’s Family Fun Track, Speedway 95. All of the missed features will be made up, on Saturday, June 7th at seven with double features, including the second race in the 50-lap Dysart's Pro-Limited Series. Wacky Wednesday kicks off the on Wednesday June 4th at 7.

Here are the weekly race results for Spud Speedway in Caribou, ME! We had a small turnout because of the threat of rain, but Spud never saw a drop of it! The sun actually made a couple cameo appearances during the day!

WISCASSET RACEWAY PRESS RELEASE 5/25/08
Near perfect early summer weather greeted a large and eager crowd at Maine's "Center of Speed" for the running of the annual Coastal 200 and Wiscasset Raceway's salute to the troops with Operation Recognition. The program started with special opening ceremonies honoring the men and women of the military and their famililies, plus recognizining the efforts of Operation Recognition. When the dust cleared and the marathon program ended, it was West Bath's Bill Whorff Jr standing in victory lane holding the first place trophy and ready to cash the $10,000 winner's check for winning the Coastal 200. .H.; 10 Rick Sirois – Norridgewock; 11.
