Childs took advantage of cousin Rich Sirois' missed shift on a restart with six laps remaining to win the rescheduled Sun Journal 100 for the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Mini Stocks on Saturday night.

JEFF BURGESS BECOMES 8TH DIFFERENT LATE MODEL WINNER IN WILD NIGHT AT WISCASSET

Saturday night at Wiscasset Raceway had all the look and feel of show you might get on a hot full moon night in mid August. There was plenty of action on the track; a few tempers on the rise and the busiest members of the track staff may have been the emergency crew. On the positive side of things Jeff Burgess of Oakland raced his way to the 30 lap Late Model feature win, making him the 8th different winner in nine races in Wiscasset’s top division. Other winners on the night included Jeremy Glasier of Appleton in the Super Streets; Steve Peirpont of Cushing in the Strictly Streets; Mike Wilson of Chelsea in the Stock Mini’s; Marje Albert of Chelsea in the Ladies Division; Nick Hinckley of Wiscasset in the Teen Division; and Francis Bernard Jr of Howland in the Quirk Super Mini Cup Series. Four of the weekly division winners picked up their first win of the year in the show sponsored by Norm’s Used Cars of Wiscasset.

Stock owners and drivers is scheduled for Wednesday July 11th, 7pm at
Wiscasset Raceway.

FINALLY ? BOBBY MESIMER PICKS UP FIRST CAREER WIN AT WISCASSET RACEWAY

This just in! The monkey is official off Bobby Mesimer’s back. After 43 top fives through the past 3-1/2 years, the 23-year-old Woolwich racer outran the division’s top two drivers to nail down his first career win Saturday night at Wiscasset Raceway. The popular victory highlighted the evening’s double point racing action at Maine’s fastest track with a large crowd enjoying near perfect mid-June weather. Other winners in the show included Sidney’s Chris Thorne in the Late Model Sportsman; R.J. Austin of Smithfield in the Super Streets; Dylan Lancaster in the Stock Mini’s; Cassandra St Clair in the Ladies Division; Cody Sleeper in the Teen Division; and Jacob Dore in the NELCAR Legends. Wiscasset Raceway returns to action Saturday June 23rd at 6:00pm with a regular race program plus the Quirk Super Mini Cup Series. Norms Used Cars of Wiscasset, celebrating their 30th Anniversary, will sponsor the show. Steve Coffin wins Wildcat 50 lap special at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway

Scarborough, Maine- Once per season the Wildcat division has the headline event for their annual 50 lap test and Saturday night Steve Coffin won the caution free race for the first time in his career. Other feature winners in the NASCAR Whelan All American Series races were Bill Rodgers in the Pro Series, Jason Larrabee in the Sport Series and Brian Beaulieu for the Road Runner division. Steve Coffin started on the outside pole position and beat Lyman McKeage to the first turn to take the lead at the drop of the green flag.
