WISCASSET, MAINE – Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Most people know these infamous words of iconic professional boxer, Muhammad Ali. Not as common is the second half of this quote, often forgotten, “His hands can’t hit what his eyes can’t see. Now you see me, now you don’t.” Wyatt Alexander of Ellsworth was clearly channeling the words of this recently passed American legend, as he claimed first place in the Prostock 50-lap feature after a tremendous display of patience and sportsmanship. As spectators witnessed a pattern emerge of the 96 car holding a healthy lead, it became clear that speed was on Alexander’s side – now you can see him, now you can’t.
Sponsored by ServPro of Biddeford/Saco, the Prostock division is the most advanced class of auto racing run in the state. To say that the seventeen seasoned drivers who stepped up in this event are competitive would be the understatement of the century. Immediately after the green flag flew, Alexander wasted no time putting distance between himself and the ensuing pack. Not one to be left behind, the #15 car of Nick Hinkley engaged Alexander in a rivalry for first that would last long into the race, only ending when a caution in lap 37 left Hinkley of Wiscasset immobile midtrack.

No repeat winners yet this season in Speedway’s premier class
Oxford, Maine – Adam\ Polvinen of Auburn raced past early leader Ben Ashline, then pulled away from the field in the 50-lap Budweiser Championship Series Super Late Model feature, topping the stock car racing card Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway. Polvinen is the sixth different winner in the six Super Late Model 50-lappers contested this season at the Route 26 racetrack.
“It’s been a long time coming,” the winner said in victory lane. Polvinen’s closest rival as he crossed the finish line under the checkered flag was reigning track champion and current championship points leader Timmy Brackett of Buckfield.
Turner’s Shawn Martin started deep in the pack, then cruised by most of his competition on the outside en route to a third-place finish. Early leader Ashline, of Fairfield, ended up in fourth position, followed by Anson’s Scott Moore.

Oxford, Maine — TJ Brackett of Buckfield raced away from the pack to earn his first Budweiser Championship Series Super Late Model win of the season in a non-stop 50-lap race topping the card Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Brackett, a former track champion in the ultra-quick top class, had a terrible start to his 2016 campaign turn around nicely, as he easily outran rookie Super Late Model driver Josh Childs of Oxford to the checkered flag.
Dennis Spencer, Jr., establishing himself as a championship contender once again, nailed down a second consecutive podium finish. Multi-time Late Model champion Shawn Martin of Turner earned a fourth-place finish with a lot of work on the outside groove, sometimes three-wide.
