Unity Race cancelled 6-5-10

The races for today, June 5, have been cancelled. There will be no rain date tomorrow due to various graduations going on.  Hope to see you all next Saturday at 5:30. The kids bike race that was going to be held today will be held next week, June 12. Enjoy the weekend.

Mike Landry, Bryan Robbins top Memorial Day specials at Unity Raceway

Unity, Maine – Oakland’s Mike Landry, a rookie in the Late Model division at Unity Raceway, emerged triumphantly from a wild, 100-lap special event Saturday night at Maine’s Toughest Racing oval.

Montville’s Bryan Robbins topped the weekend support division card with a win in the 50-lap Wildcat main event. Other feature race winners over the busy Memorial Day Weekend at Unity Raceway included Bob Weymouth of Topsham, Nate Weston of Madison, Ben Clark of Clinton, Reggie Bickford of Oakland, Justin Moore of Madison, Shelby Kimball of Cornville, Cole Robinson of Clinton, Caleb Willette of Winslow, Joe Legere of Old Town and Daymon Dodge of Troy.

A Fine Memorial: Unity Raceway Readies For ‘300’ Weekend
Track to host 200-lap Late Model event as part of extravaganza

UNITY, Maine — In the spirit of holiday giving, Unity Raceway track operator George Fernald Jr. wanted to give race teams and fans something different. In doing so, he may have created Maine’s newest racing tradition.

Unity will hold its 1st annual Memorial 300 on Friday and Saturday, May 28-29 — an event highlighted by the $3,000-to-win Late Model 200. Also on the card is a 100-lap Wildcat feature offering $1,000 to the winner.

“We’re excited about this weekend,” Fernald said. “We hope it’s the start of a great new holiday tradition here.”

Unity Raceway moves weekly racing card to Saturday nights

Unity, Maine — Saturday night racing returns to Unity Raceway for the first time in several years, effective immediately, promoter George Fernald, Jr. has announced. The track had previously published a 2010 schedule consisting primarily of Friday night race cards with a post time of 6:30 p.m. These events have now been rescheduled for Saturdays, with the first race scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

 

The events scheduled for this Saturday (May 22) and Saturday, May 29 will start as 4:00 p.m. as previously announced. The Friday night preliminary racing card for May 29’s Memorial 300 racing program will take place as scheduled, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

St Clair wins at Unity Raceway Moulton wraps up track championship

Watson, McAlpine, Rackliff and Wilson score feature and championship victories at regular season finale

 

Unity, Maine – Josh St. Clair of Liberty took the bait this time and came from shotgun position on the starting grid to win the 30-lap Late Model feature at Unity Raceway Friday night. A fourth-place finish in the event was more than enough for Frank Moulton of Burnham to claim the 2009 track championship, the 61st at the historic oval. St. Clair was slated to start his main event from pole position, but took promoter George Fernald’s $150 offer to start in the rear of the lineup.
