A Whole New Look For Austin Theriault
Fort Kent Driver Among Pre-Race Favorites At Oxford Plains Speedway
Two years ago, Austin Theriault showed up as a 16-year-old rookie with only a handful of ACT Late Model Tour starts under his belt. Last summer, he opened eyes when he became the youngest podium finisher in the history of the biggest one-day stock car race in the northeast.
This Sunday, Theriault and his No. 57 Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion team head to Oxford Plains Speedway for the 39th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 on a short-list of favorites to capture the premier Late Model event in the country.

Barre, VT – Former Thunder Road Champion Jamie Fisher, and two-time Serie ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge were the first to file entries for the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, September 30 at Barre’s Thunder Road.
Fisher filed within 30 minutes of receiving his entry form last Thursday. “This may be the biggest Milk Bowl we ever run for, so I didn’t want to waste any time,” said Fisher. “We’ve finally got the car going great again this year, I think we’ve got a real shot,” he finished.

NAPLES ME (7/17) Two Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North touring series are preparing for their first Oxford (ME) Plains Speedway appearance of 2012 as the racing extravaganza that is TD Bank Oxford 250 weekend approaches.
The PASS Mods highlight Friday night’s action, presented by the Sun Journal. Many of the PASS Mod competitors learned their trade in Oxford’s weekly racing series. Andy Shaw, Dale Shaw and Alan Wilson were once regulars at the Route 26 oval and Wilson was victorious in the 2011 edition. The Mods will battle for 40 green flag laps on a card that includes the Oxford Championship Series (no Late Models), the Oxford Acceleration series and a happy hour practice session for the PASS North Super Late Models. Friday evening July 20 the racing goes green at 6:30 PM.

Competitors Brace for Critical Championship Event
Barre, VT – Championship hopes come to a crossroad this Thursday night (July 19) for The Times Argus Midseason Championship event at Barre’s Thunder Road. Double points will be on the line for all divisions, leaving no room for error in tight point battles across the board.
In 2011, struggling former champion Dave Pembroke took the checkers at The Times Argus Midseason Championships and, with another win the previous week, amassed enough points in seven days to pull into contention. Pembroke rocketed from mid pack to the point lead, and held on to claim the Late Model Championship. He currently rides second in weekly points.

Lee, NH – Open-wheel fans were treated to over 100 laps of feature event action at Lee USA Speedway Friday night, as the NEMA and NEMA Lites Midgets joined the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Small Block Supermodifieds on the card.
Due to a weather-related postponement a few weeks prior, the NEMA Lites competed in a pair of 25-lap feature events during the course of the evening. Carl Medeiros, Jr. of Westport, MA turned in an impressive run to pick up the win in the held-over main, his first career Lites win.

Unity, Maine — Ajay Picard of Palmyra padded his point lead in the Unity Raceway championship standings, racing to his first victory of the season in the 35-lap Late Model main event, topping the stock car racing card at Unity Raceway on Saturday night.
Picard got to the front of the pack quickly and managed to hold off former Unity Raceway Pro Stock champion Dean Fuller of Albion, who was seeking his third straight main event triumph. Fuller had his hands full, claiming runner-up honors after a good battle with Sidney’s Kevin Douglass, who ended up in third position aboard the John Clark 21. Danny Smart of West Buxton and Dan Trask of Chelsea rounded out the top five.
