SEVEN NEW MEMBERS TO ENTER MAINE MOTORSPORTS HALL OF FAME
Auburn, Maine – The Selection Committee of the Maine Motorsports Hall of Fame has chosen seven individuals to be inducted into the Hall of Fame next spring as members of the Class of 2014. The seven future inductees are all race winning drivers with nearly five hundred trips to victory lane between them.
Bobby Turner, co-chairman of the Selection Committee and member of the Maine Motorsports Hall of Fame, announced the names of the seven individuals to make up the Class of 2013 at the General Meeting of the Maine Vintage Race Car Association held on November 3rd.
The Class of 2014 inductees are: Bobby Alexander, Jimmy Burns, Bruce Elder, the late Leland Kangas, Rodney ‘Chink’ Maynard, Mike Rowe and Bobby Tibbetts.

Mike Parks and Jack Bateman are pleased to announce that the group accustomed to running under the Granite State Pro Stock Series banner will continue to do so in 2014 and beyond. Following a meeting of the two parties, Bateman has agreed to transfer ownership of the sophomore Series to Parks, who has served as the Series’ President since it’s inception.
“I’m grateful to Jack for working with me to resolve this issue. He has been a great support to us over the last two years, and I am glad that our agreement is in the best interest of the 69 teams that participated in the Granite State Pro Stock Series this year. We will be fortunate enough to have him around to advise on technical policies and procedures moving forward,” Parks said.

Barre, VT – Thunder Road International Speedbowl has released its 2014 stock car racing schedule. The schedule features 18 events from the end of April through the beginning of October, as is tradition at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement.” The biggest change for 2014 is the switch from Sunday “Twilight” events in early June to the return of the traditional June Thursday night events.
The season will kick off with the 16th Annual Merchants Bank 150 on the weekend of Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27. The Merchants Bank event will be the only American Canadian Tour races at the ¼-mile in 2014.
