St-Pie, QC – Williamstown, VT’s Jimmy Hebert claimed his second career American Canadian Tour victory of his career in the Sanair 150 at Sanair Super Speedway on Saturday, August 3. Hebert started from the pole position with a +6 qualifying effort on his way to his heat win. He faded back during the early stages of the event before working his way back to the point just before the halfway mark. He returned to the lead for good on lap 70 and built a large lead before the final rain shower of the day came and cut the race short on lap 145.
Série ACT competitor Alex Labbe and Wayne Helliwell, Jr. came from 12th and 24th respectively to complete the podium. Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. worked his way from 13th to take 4th. From the first practice Eddie MacDonald battled his car then thirty-nine other opponents to post a hard-earned second place finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series’ Pork Be Inspired 150 at Iowa Speedway. The race was the second of two combination East/West Series events held on the fast 7/8 of a mile speedway. The new Grimm Construction/MS Society Chevy gave the crew fits in the first practice but really came on at the end of the race while the competition faded.
“This is a great finish for us at Iowa. We really needed this for the team,” said Eddie Mac after the race. “It was a crazy day right from the beginning. We were black flagged for a serious tire rub in the first practice. The crew did an outstanding job cutting away the fenders where the tires burned through. We had to replace the composite body affected areas with sheet metal and rivets. It didn’t look pretty but it got the job done. I thank the guys for all their hard work. This new car is super but we keep learning things about it both good and bad.”

One of the familiar Legends drivers at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) is Taylor Martin. This is Taylor’s third season racing in a Legends Car at NHMS and this young veteran driver is also the first female driver to ever compete in a Legends Car at NHMS. Last weekend, the Legends Cars raced a triple header; one race on the oval and two races on the road course. Taylor came away with her sixth straight top three in the Granite State Legends Series, and two more top ten finishes in the MOAT Mountain Road Course Series. This weekend, Taylor is heading back to NHMS for another triple header: “Yeah! I’m really excited for this weekend’s triple header at NHMS. We’re just doing a few final touches on the cars before we load them up.”
The road course at NHMS has left and right turns long straight aways, paperclip turns, and rolling hills. The Mini Magic Mile also has a flat front stretch and a banked back stretch, setting up some close side by side racing keeping the driver constantly busy. So which race track at NHMS is Taylor’s favorite? “To be honest, I’m more of an oval fan. I like racing on the road course because all the shifting keeps you busy but it does take a toll on you physically. And, I have been racing ovals all my life so it’s what I’m best at.”
