Série ACT at St Eustache Postponed

ACT LogoSt-Eustache, QC – The Série ACT event scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC has been postponed due to weather. A rain date is to be announced.

Jean-Francois Dery won the opener at St-Croix, QC’s Circuit Riverside Speedway, after two previous rainouts at Autodrome Montmagny and Autodrome St-Eustache. Patrick Cliche currently leads the points on Série ACT, with Dery and long-time veteran Claude Leclerc just behind. This will be the third rainout in four races for Série ACT, which will have an unprecedented purse in 2013 with over $400,000 in purse through 11 races.

Rough Riders Prepare for Thunder Road Debut

troadTBarre, VT – When Thursday night events start at Barre’s Thunder Road this Thursday, June 20, there will be a new twist on the Nation’s Site of Excitement’s racing card: The Rough Riders are coming to town.

The Rough Riders, are a division of 6-cylinder cars, ten years old or older, designed to introduce competitors to racing in a way that is cheap, simple, and most of all, fun. The cars will be painted with family friendly themes, and will have their first event of 2013 on the high banks this Thursday, June 20.

Extreme Racing is Back! Global RallyCross Championship Returns to Magic Mile

LOUDON, N.H. – New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Global RallyCross officials announced today that the popular SYLVANIA Silverstar zXe Global RallyCross Championship race will return next month as part of the NASCAR race weekend activities. The popular, extreme sports event will run on a new day, Thursday, July 11 as part of the weekend and kick-off FanFest activities.

Door-to-door collisions. A 70-foot jump. And a 10-time X Games gold medalist in Victory Lane highlighted last year’s debut event. Overwhelmed by the positive feedback from fans, NHMS and GRC officials have worked since February to bring the series back this July. A new course setup will include a 140-foot long dirt ramp, which will replace the 70-foot steel ramp jump.

LEE USA SPEEDWAY FROM FRIDAY, JUNE 14

leeLee, NH – The annual Lee USA Speedway “El Camino Night” attracted a strong contingent of NECOA members to the race track on Friday night, with dozens of the unique machines joining the weekly NASCAR Whelen All American Series racing program for some parade laps and a wild burnout contest that had the fans cheering for more.

Prior to the start of the evening’s feature event action, fans and competitors once again stood for a moment of silence, this time in memory of NASCAR racer Jason Leffler, who lost his life in a dirt track Sprint Car race, as well as longtime speedway supporter Howard “Howdy” Clapp of Groton, MA, who passed away during the week.

DJ Shaw Takes Win in Return to Chaudiere

chaudiere_win61513Vallee-Jonction, Quebec – DJ Shaw made the most of an off weekend from PASS competition, taking the win at Autodrome Chaudiere in a 150 lap open competition race. Using this race as a test session of sorts for the final two races of the Pro All Stars Series North Autobus Quebecois Triple Crown Series, the team was confident they had made the right changes to the setup since their last trip to Chaudiere.

The day started off with rain showers breaking up the practice sessions, but anytime the #60 Precision JLM Toyota Camry went on the track, it was flawless. Starting on the pole in his heat race, Shaw drove away from the field and made it look easy to take the win, giving him the outside of the front row for the feature event.
