More than two dozen teams gear up for Sept. 22 ACT Invitational

LOUDON, N.H. (August 29, 2012) – A picturesque day provided the perfect setting for American-Canadian Tour teams as they turned practice laps at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Wednesday.

More than 25 teams from five New England states and two Canadian provinces spent most of the morning and afternoon gathering as much information as possible for the Bond Auto ACT Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 22 at “The Magic Mile.”

Hoar Closes Point Gap, Heads for Thunder Road

Labor Day Classic Kicks off $300,000 Fall Winnings

Barre, VT – The championship battle for the American Canadian Tour’s biggest stars will be in town for a critical points event this Sunday, September 2 at the 34th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Barre’s Thunder Road. Point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. will have to defend his slim 22-point lead from eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar, hot off his win at Circuit Riverside Speedway in Ste-Croix, QC last weekend.

With two races remaining for the Championship to be decided, a familiar two-horse battle has re-emerged. Dover, NH’s Helliwell leads Williston, VT’s Hoar by 22 points coming into the Labor Day Classic, a track where Hoar owns 12 victories. The pair has combined for 13 top tens in 16 starts, vaulting them into a championship scrap that is now coming down to the wire.

LEE USA SPEEDWAY RESULTS FROM FRIDAY, AUGUST 24, 2012

Lee, NH – The chase for the 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track championship at Lee USA Speedway continued Friday night, with double features making it an even more challenging for the Benson Lumber and Hardware Small Block Supermodified competitors.

Twin 25-lap feature events were on tap for the open-wheelers, and when the checkers waved, we had not one, but two first-time winners rolling into victory lane. Second-year competitor Leslie Keyser collected his first career win in the opener, and veteran Moe Lattime got his first Small Block Super checkered the nightcap.

Christopher PASS Top Gun at Stafford captures series first Stafford stop; McKeage and Miller Sportsman, Mod winners

Stafford Springs CT (8/26) Ted Chrsitopher made a rare Pro All Stars Series appearance Sunday afternoon at Stafford (CT) Motor Speedway and when the checkers waved the man they call TC added yet another entry to a record book he already dominates at the half mile oval. Christopher led almost every lap to capture the first PASS feature at his home track.DJ Shaw came on strong as the laps wound down to finish second and Travis Benjamin pulled himself closer to Cassius Clark in the PASS North point battle with a third place run.

The win was Christopher’s second in a PASS super late model, his first coming at Thompson International Speedway in 2004. He’s the eighth driver to carry the PASS North super late model checkers in 2012.

Baillargeon Rules in Granite State Pro Stock Series Hudson Hugger 100

Veteran racer scores first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win

HUDSON, NH — Bobby Baillargeon was virtually untouchable as the veteran stock car racer led all 100 laps and claimed his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win at Hudson Speedway in Hudson, NH in the Hudson Hugger 100.

The Kingston, NH driver drew the pole position in the top-eight redraw and set up his winning effort. Baillargeon was able to pull out to sizeable leads, but a late race restart on lap 94 put Granite State Pro Stock Series point leader Bobby Cabral to his outside.

STAFFORD, Conn. – Ted Christopher added to his eye-popping resume at Stafford Motor Speedway, leading every lap from the outside pole to win the inaugural PASS North Series 125 at his home track on Sunday afternoon.

The victory was the track-record 119th of Christopher’s career at the half-mile Stafford Motor Speedway, where he has a grandstand section named after him. In addition to 98 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series wins at the track in Modified competition, Christopher also has victories in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and a half-dozen wins in weekly Pro Stock events there.
