Naples ME (8/2) The Pro All Stars Series(PASS) North super late models are back in action this weekend at Seekonk (MA) Speedway on Saturday August 6 and the teams that travel the east coast will all be looking to accomplish one thing – To see a PASS regular in the winner’s circle!
PASS has made an annual appearance at Seekonk Speedway since 2009 and the speedway’s home town heroes have claimed both wins. Tom Scully Jr. did the trick in 2009 and Dave Darling got the job done in 2010. The PASS pros have been plenty competitive, but its rare when the home track regulars shut them out of victory lane for two races in a row. (more…)
Point leader Folsom outlasts Late Model rivals at Unity Raceway
Unity, Maine – Points leader David Folsom I of Skowhegan prevailed in a close finish, highlighting a thrilling 35-lap Late Model feature topping the stock car racing card last Saturday night at Unity Raceway.
Starting fourth, Folsom worked his way past his two closest championship rivals – Jeff Burgess of East Madison and Dylan Turner of Freedom, to take the race lead midway through the event. Battling a deflating right front tire, Folsom managed to hold off the hard-charging Will Collins of Waldoboro in the closing laps, denying Collins a second straight triumph by inches at the checkered flag. Scarborough,Maine-On a night with the American Canadian Tour visiting for a 150 lap race, three drivers chose the big stage and large crowd to post their first ever feature wins at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Whelan All American Series took to the track first led by the 40 lap Pro Series feature race. Bob Gahan jumped into the lead from the pole position with young Joey Doiron in hot pursuit. Doiron moved around Gahan on the third circuit but Gahan would not go down easily. Gahan went back in front on lap 9 and held the position through lap 11 when Doiron went pack to the lead. A late race caution flag on lap 35 gave Aaron Ricker a shot at Doiron for the win but Doiron got a better restart and led the final laps for his first win. Ricker was second with Dan McKeage third. David Oliver and Bob Gahan were fourth and fifth place finishers.
Not to be outdone by Joey Doiron, Marcel Chauvette won his first career race following 35 laps of Sports Series racing. Andy Field led the field to the green flag and paced the field for the first 8 laps before Rob Herrick powered past him. Marcel Chauvette moved to the second position on lap 11 and quickly took to the inside oh Herrick to take over the lead one lap later. Racing stayed under green flag conditions for the remainder of the race and Chauvette was able to open up a comfortable lead to take the win. Carey Martin, filing the seat in the #85 this week got stuck in traffic and could not clear until the final laps. Martin finished second with Corey Bubar third. Dave Langlais and Rusty Poland were fourth and fifth at the finish. (more…)

Travis and Danielle Beale, a racing couple from Hampden, each won their respective feature events at Speedway 95 Wednesday night. It was the second time this year they’ve both been in victory lane on the same night.
Danielle Beale won first as she led the Ladies 20 lap feature from the pole position to the checkered flag. She received a strong challenge from Becky Elston of Carmel over the final 5 laps, but was able to hold on to the lead for the win. Elston finished second, followed by Winterport’s Chelsea Young in third, who battled Elston for most of the race for the position. Fourth went to Kayla Allen of Bucksport, with Amy Hood of Howland finishing fifth. (more…)
