Cicconi Wins as Bertrand Team Sweeps NEMA Opener at Waterford
Waterford, CT (April 1, 2007): Lou Cicconi of Aston, PA, was in the thick of the battle right from the drop of the green flag in the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) season opener at the Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, CT on Sunday afternoon. Just after the halfway marker, Cicconi’s dogged pursuit of leader Pete Pernesiglio of Lake Grove, NY, paid off with a pass for the lead. Cicconi withstood a strong challenge from the hard-charging Bobby Santos III of Franklin, MA, in the late stages of the race before heading off to victory.

West Springfield, MA (March 7, 2007): While the Better Living Center at the Eastern States Exposition bustled with traffic on March 2-4 during SpeedwayEXPO, the Stroh Building was alive with activity all weekend as well. A full line-up of events provided non-stop entertainment for vendors and attendees alike. Whether the goal was education through seminars or entertainment with activities like the pit stop contest, SpeedwayEXPO delivered.
First SpeedwayEXPO is a Resounding Success
West Springfield, MA (March 7, 2007): The first annual SpeedwayEXPO presented by Town Fair Tire is now history. After a weekend heaving with activity dedicated to auto racing, exhibitors and visitors alike were left hoping that history will repeat itself.
East Windsor, CT – Legendary Canadian stock car driver, Jean-Paul Cabana was inducted in to the tenth New England Antique Racers Hall of Fame Sunday at a ceremony in East Windsor, CT. The Quebec racer was one of 11 honored in a group that included five drivers (Cabana, Dave Dion, Bob Potter, John Rosati, Bentley Warren), a car owner/crew chief (Bob Johnson), a speedway promoter (John Falconi Sr), a car owner and Northeastern Midget Association president (John McCarthy) as well as Veterans Committee selections Dick Garrett and Dick Egan (drivers) and George Barber (car owner/track builder). The Jack Ratta Memorial Media Award was given to Walter Renner of National Speed Sport News. A special recognition award was bestowed on Danny Pardi.
