Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour – Race Eight

By Evan Beaulieu

Round number five of the New England Legends Sales & Service Beech Ridge Series was another great race. The points standings were close going into the event, with Bob Weymouth leading last week’s winner Evan Beaulieu by only six points, as both drivers would have to start at the rear due to their top three finishes last week.  Also in the field was defending champion, Max Zachem, who was involved in an incident at his last race at Unity, taking him out of contention to win.  Combine that with the best drivers that New England has, it was set to be another great race in front of the Thursday night crowd.

Mike Rowe captures PASS Bastille 200 – Whitten, Landry claim Mod and Sportsman wins

Naples ME (4/14/10) Mike Rowe stole the lead from Johnny Clark on a restart with twelve laps to go to capture the Pro ALL Stars Series (PASS) Bastille 200 at Lee (NH) USA Speedway Tuesday night. Clark had to settle for second; Ben Rowe raced under the checkers third. DJ Shaw and Richie Dearborn completed the top five.

Clark looked like he was on his way to PASS North win number four of 2010, setting a blistering pace that left the field in another zip code over the second half of the 200 lap grind. But Mike Rowe was lurking inside the top ten all night long and he turned on the jets with fifty laps to go in an effort to chase down the leader. Still, it looked like his effort would come up one spot short until the final yellow flag of the night flew. The pair let it all hang out on the restart and Rowe took over for good after a little contact between the pair coming out of turn three.
