CHARLOTTE, NC (February 27) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry is pleased to announce that the 14 race schedule for the PASS South Super Late Models is complete with the addition of a race at the Southern National Raceway Park in Kenly, North Carolina. In addition to the PASS South cars, the PASS Late Model Trucks will also be in action. The race will be on Saturday, September 26th and will mark a return for the PASS South Super Late Models to the 4/10 mile oval. This will be the first visit for the PASS South Super Late Models to Southern National since 2006. The race will be a major event for PASS as it will be part of the four-race PASS National Series. The PASS National Series combines the best from PASS North and PASS South and will determine the PASS National Champion. Cassius Clark became the first PASS National Champion in 2008.

World Series of Asphalt, New Smyrna Fl. Rodney Brooks had a great speedweeks in his lucky number 7 IMCA modified. He started the series off running in 2nd spot. With 3 laps to go he got a flat tire and lost 5 positions to finish 8th. The next four nights of racing produced a 2nd, two 3rd's, and a 5th place. After five nights the team was 3rd in the division points. The last race was a 50 lap feature. Everybody was confident of a good finish. A mechanical failure (right front hub broke) on lap 10 was cause for a 25th place finish. The lucky 7 team ended up 4th in the overall points. The car is owned by Al Marmande of Louisiana. Rodney and his wife Taylor completely overhauled the car and prepared it for speedweeks competition.

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 22) – Hal Goodson is what you might call an “old school” racer. He learned that in order to succeed in racing, you have to be able to do everything yourself, from working on the racecar, driving the hauler to the track and racing on the weekend. These are things that have been instilled in Hal Goodson from the beginning. Goodson’s father, Howard, was a constant in victory lane throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s at the speedways of the Eastern Carolinas. That same winning ethic was passed to Hal at an early age as he had to balance racing with his studies at The Citadel and even had to keep an eye on the clock so as not to miss his college curfew.

Waterbury, VT – Milton, Vermont’s veteran race driver, Brent Dragon and Hudson, New Hampshire’s young star Joey Polewarzcyk (‘Pole’) were the first to file full season entries to race for the American Canadian Tour (ACT) Championship during the 2009 thirteen race campaign. Dragon has finished either 2nd or 3rd during half the dozen years he has raced on the TOUR. Joey “Pole” has finished in the top 10 in points since joining the TOUR full time in 2005, at the age of sixteen.

CHARLOTTE, NC (FEBUARY 17) – The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today that it will add a second race to the 2009 schedule for both the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Late Model Trucks at the Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC. The 4th Annual Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway will be on Saturday, April 25th and will replace a previously announced race at the Caraway Speedway slated for the same date. Caraway Speedway officials asked Monday to relinquish the date and PASS officials agreed. In addition to the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Late Model Trucks, the Allison Legacy Cars will also be a part of this stellar card of racing.

Naples ME. (February 16) Each February there are a few signs of spring that make northern New England racers and race fans realize that the season is just around the corner. The days get longer, the short track marathons in Florida get under way, its speed weeks at “the big track” and Mark Thomas stages his popular Racin’ Preview 2009. As always, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) will be out in force at this year’s edition, set for Friday and Saturday February 20 and 21 at the Expo in Portland Maine.
