PASS South Enjoys Break Leading Up To Stretch Run

CHARLOTTE, NC (August 14) –  Without a doubt, the 2008 season has to be one of the toughest yet for the teams of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division.  With eight races down so far, PASS South teams have already competed in the same number of races that made up the entire 2006 and 2007 schedules.  Fortunately, for the drivers and especially their crew members, they have entered the longest down time of the season.  When teams head to the Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC for the Piedmont Pride 125 on August 30th, it will have been four weeks since the last race was held at the Dillon Motor Speedway.

Michaud Takes Fourth Thunder Road Win

       BARRE, VT – Late Model stock car driver Cris Michaud of Northfield claimed his fourth victory of the season at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday night, winning the 50-lap Vermont ACE Hardware Dealers Trophy Dash.  Michaud started 15th on the 26-car grid, and sliced his way through the field during the early laps.  Once he reached the outside lane, he was able to pass leader Brooks Clark on lap 34 and cruise to the win.

Michaud, Crouch File First Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 Entries

       BARRE, VT – Champion Late Model stock car drivers Cris Michaud and Robbie Crouch have filed the first two entries for the 30th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Sun., August 31.  Both drivers are feature winners at the historic 1/4-mile oval in 2008.  Michaud, of Northfield, VT, is in the thick of the “King of the Road” track championship battle with three victories to his credit.  Crouch, originally of Tampa, FL, earned his first Thunder Road win in nearly 20 years last month.

Thunder Road Looking to Get Back at Mother Nature on Thursday: UVMs Hybrid race car to make Thunder

       BARRE, VT – Stock car racing fans and drivers at Barre’s Thunder Road have had enough of the bad weather, and they’re looking to break free of Mother Nature’s wrath on Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Vermont ACE Hardware Dealers Trophy Dash.  Thunder Road has fallen victim to rain in each of its last four regular-event attempts, dating back to July 24.

Martin Lacombe defeated the odds in a big way on Saturday night to capture the Toromont CAT 100 at Capital City Speedway, the second Série ACT Castrol win of his career.  Lacombe has had nothing but bad luck in 2008 – at the opening event at his home track, Autodrome St-Eustache near Montréal and his hometown of Terrebonne, QC, Lacombe blew and engine in practice.  After a hasty powerplant swap, he made his way to the lead pack… then the transmission broke.
