Canadian Champ plans PASS North, National Championship SLM Campaign

NAPLES ME – Multi-time Canadian late model champion John Fleming has announced his intentions to compete in the full schedule of Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model races in 2008.

The Halifax Nova Scotia native has made annual PASS North appearances since the series' inception in 2001, but 2008 will mark his first all out assault on the east's fastest full bodied racing circuit. Fleming has relocated his race team to Buckfield Maine, where veteran PASS crew chief Seth Holbrook will oversee the preparation of Flemings' familiar number 97 Roofing Connection/Certainteed Building Products Dodge Chargers.

Childress-Howard Motorsports to Field Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Team for Partial Season in 20

Richard Childress Racing (RCR) and Howard Motorsports have joined forces as Childress-Howard Motorsports (CHM) to field a Daytona Prototype team for a limited number of events in the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series.

The announcement was made and the No. 2 CHM Pontiac Crawford was unveiled this evening at the RCR facility during its stop on the NASCAR Media Tour. The team will utilize the driving talents of Andy Wallace and be powered by a Pontiac engine in a Crawford DPO3 chassis.

Torco Fuels Named Official Fuel of American-Canadian Tour

       WATERBURY, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car racing organization has reached an agreement with RT Raceparts of Hudson, NH and Torco Racing Fuels to be the Official Fuel Supplier for all ACT Late Model racing in the United States and Canada, including Barre, VT’s Thunder Road, the ACT Late Model Tour, and the Série ACT Castrol, effective immediately.  It is anticipated that other ACT-affiliated tracks in the region will become part of this program.

Vermont Racing Legend Gammell to Enter NEAR Hall of Fame

       EAST WINDSOR, CT – Vermont stock car racing legend Johnny Gammell of St. Johnsbury, VT will be inducted into the New England Auto Racers (NEAR) Hall of Fame at a ceremony in East Windsor, CT on Sunday, January 27.  A former winner of the Don MacTavish Award (1970) and the Chittenden Milk Bowl at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road (1969), Gammell won countless feature races in northern New England and Canada during a career that spanned more than 30 years.
