THE STORY
FORT KENT, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, makes his 2013 PASS South Series debut in the South Carolina Clash 150 at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, S.C., on Saturday, March 9. The driver of the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Ford Fusion won in his last start in a PASS-sanctioned Super Late Model race last October, when Theriault won the PASS North Series season finale at Oxford (Maine) Plains Speedway. Theriault, the BKR development driver in his second full season with the organization owned by 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski, led several laps in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Speedfest 200 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Ga., in January before he was wrecked out of the Top-5 by another competitor in the late stages of the event. Tough End To Strong Speedfest Run For Theriault
Accident Collects BKR Driver While Running Inside The Top-5

CORDELE, Ga. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, saw a promising run get collected in someone else’s mess as he finished 13th in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Speedfest 200 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Ga., on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Theriault was among the fastest cars in two days of practice on the .400-mile oval, qualified inside the Top-10 in the 32-car field and was leading with less than 70 laps remaining in the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Ford Fusion when troubles hit. A broken throttle spring left him with only a quarter-throttle before a timely caution flag flew, after which he marched back inside the Top-5 only to get turned from behind in Turn 3 and effectively take him out of contention. Theriault Kicks Off Season At Speedfest

Maine Driver Looks To Build On Promising 2012 Campaign With BKR

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, kicks off his 2013 schedule with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Speedfest 200 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Ga., this weekend, January 25-27.

Theriault returns for his second full season in the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Ford Fusion.

“We had some time during the offseason to reflect on the past year, and coming into this year, we feel there’s a lot of stuff that I learned last year as a driver and that the team has learned that we can carry into the new year,” Theriault said. “There’s a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that a lot of people don’t realize, but I think we’ve really stepped up our game. We’re taking it to the next level.”

During the offseason, Theriault moved to North Carolina and now works during the week for Brad Keselowski Racing. He believes that the hands-on time he’s spent working on the cars will only pay off in the long run. (more…)

Impressive Runs For Theriault At Snowball Derby
Rookie Finishes 4th In Snowflake 100, Day Ends Early In Snowball 300

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Austin Theriault finished fourth in the Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., on Saturday, December 1, and came within 60 laps of posting a second Top-5 finish on the weekend before an electrical issue ended his first Snowball Derby 300 prematurely on Sunday, December 2.

Theriault qualified 33rd for the Snowball Derby after finishing third in a large field in the 50-lap Last-Chance Qualifier on Saturday, and he drove all the way into the Top-10 at the midway point of the 45th annual 300-lap event. He managed to get on the same tire strategy as the race leaders by the time he was running as high as third with less than 60 laps remaining, but a broken power steering belt sapped his engine of power and forced him to retire early from the prestigious Super Late Model event.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Looking to build on the momentum of his two best career Super Late Model finishes in his last two starts, Austin Theriault returns to the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Dodge Charger this weekend for the 45th annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla.

Theriault is attempting to make his first start in the prestigious end-of-the-season event. Practice begins on Thursday, while WXBM Pole Qualifying is slated for Friday night, November 30, with the Snowball Derby 300 on Sunday, December 2, at 2 p.m.
