After a six-week hiatus, The Modified Racing Series is gearing up for a return with three consecutive weekends of racing. The schedule kicks off on August 28th at the Oxford 250 weekend, featuring a return of a past winner in the starting lineup. Following that, the series moves to Claremont Motorsports Park on September 6th, followed by a special return visit to Star Speedway on September 12th, marking the 300th event in the series' history.
The return to Oxford Plains Speedway is particularly notable as it brings back Andy Seuss, who is returning to race his family-owned Modified at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Seuss is teaming up with Kevin Lapierre, who shares a love for Modifieds, to organize team morale events between Loudon and Oxford on August 28th. Seuss himself is a five-time MRS feature winner, including a victory at Oxford in 2010.
The schedule continues with action at Claremont Motorsports Park on September 6th, where teams will benefit from bonus money and free tires. This event is made even more special for competitors as every team entering the Sunday night Labor Day Weekend race will receive a free Hoosier Racing Tire. The purse structure for this event includes extra money for the top eleven finishers.
The series is also looking to bring back established talent, with the standings showing reigning MRS Champion Brett Meservey leading by 17 points over competitors like Brian Robie, Nate Wenzel, and Ryan Doucette.
