Tommy Ricker rallies to first career Oxford Networks Late Model victory

OXFORD, Maine – Hey, if you're going to wait until you're 53 years old until posting your first top-division feature victory at your home track, you might as well do it in style.

Tommy Ricker raced into the Oxford Plains Speedway history book with a flair Thursday night, driving around Shawn Martin, Jeff White and Don Wentworth over the final 20 circuits to win a special 60-lap Oxford Networks Late Model event as part of the Agren Appliance Summer Slam triple crown series.

Three first-time winners Wednesday


OXFORD, Maine – Three drivers claimed their first victories Wednesday night as Oxford Plains Speedway kicked off New England Dodge Dealers Speedweek with Acceleration Series action.

Ryan Hewins achieved the breakthrough win in the Macdonald Motors Runnin' Rebel 'B' feature. Gerard Cote claimed his initial triumph of a 10-year career in Goulet Home Inspections Renegade. And Todd Hall topped the Chimney Tech Outlaw 'C' feature.
Other winners were Ryan's uncle, Kyle Hewins (Runnin' Rebel 'A'), David Childs and Steve Brill (Outlaw), Kevin Oliver (Call of the Wild RV Center Sport Truck) and Cathy Manchester (Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Ladies).

Karkos clobbers field in Subway 100;
"Slick Nick," 18, is a Late Model winner

OXFORD, Maine – The same, old Mini Stock domination by Justin Karkos and a fresh, new Late Model winner highlighted Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Karkos cruised to victory by a margin of more than nine seconds in the Subway 100 main event.
He was forced to share the spotlight, however, with 18-year-old Nick Brown, who became one of the youngest headline division feature winners in OPS history with his 40-lap triumph.
