Oxford, ME – After a few strong runs down south driving for Woodman Racing, Joey Doiron was back behind the wheel of his family owned Super Late Model this past weekend for the Pro All Stars Series North season opener at Oxford Plains Speedway. After fighting the handling all morning on his #73 JBJ Machine Chevrolet, Doiron was able to win the consolation race, and after starting 25th of the 38 starters, Doiron ended the season opener in the eighth position.
“We found a few things with our car that helped during the consi race and I felt like we had a great car going into the feature,” Doiron said of his day, “We needed track position bad and we didn’t get as many yellows to catch back up after starting so deep in the field, but I’m still proud of all the hard work my team put in this weekend and we will get ready to make a run at a win at Beech Ridge in a few weeks.” read more…

Waterbury, VT – The American Racer Three Star program has returned for the2015 season. The program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance who had outstanding races at American Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer tire (value $125.00), but special effort by a team, an exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or other accepted reason to give the award is used to determine the recipients.
The Three Stars are chosen by officials and will receive certificates for use of a free American Racer tire at a race of their choosing during 2015. The winners for the ACT Oxford 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway are:
DJ Shaw Posts Runner Up Finish in Thrilling PASS North Season Opener

Oxford, ME – DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM team returned to Oxford Plains Speedway this past weekend for the start of the new Pro All Stars Series North season. After driving what Shaw described early in the day as an ill handling car, he put on an epic show with the “Maine Racing Legend,” Mike Rowe for the win, and started the season with a strong second place effort.
“We weren’t good enough on the short runs there at the end,” Shaw recounted of his effort, “I feel like we had the better car, but getting to Mike and passing him are two different things. He earned this one and after the struggles we had in practice with this new car I’m really happy with the second place run.” read more…
Packard Scores Top-4 in ACT Season Opener
EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – After a disappointing run at New Smyrna, Emily Packard and the Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels team spent the last 6 weeks focusing on bettering the car for the American Canadian Tour opener, and it looks to have paid off. In Packard’s first trip to Oxford Plains Speedway, a track that really suits her driving style, the sophomore driver in the ACT tour showed patience of a veteran, which paid off with a fourth place finish. “When we returned from New Smyrna, we found a few little things that were wrong with the car, but we made those changes and just seeing how it ran this weekend makes me feel a lot better about going forward through the season,” said Packard.
With limited practice on Friday, the team unloaded the car Sunday and readied it for first practice. Packard took to the track for a few laps, posting the fourth fastest time in that first practice then brought the car back to the attention of crew chief, Neal Woodward, to see if they could make any changes to get it a little tighter through turns 3 and 4, but all in all the car was really good. “After the first practice, we knew that we had a really good car at that point, and we just spent the remaining practices trying a couple things to see if we could make the car better or how the car changed after each adjustment,” Packard said.
