THE STORY
Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, joins the ACT Late Model Tour as he returns to one of his favorite tracks in the northeast for the Q 97.9 ACT 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, August 20. Theriault is coming off an impressive second-place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last weekend in the AT Racing No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford and returning to the site of his eye-opening podium finish in last month’s TD Bank Oxford 250. Theriault’s run last weekend jumped him two spots in the ACT standings to fifth.

THE STORY
Nick Sweet of Barre, Vt., makes his RPM Motorsports debut as the ACT Late Model Tour competes in the Q 97.9 ACT 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, August 20. Sweet, the reigning Thunder Road International Speedbowl track champion and 2008 ACT Rookie of the Year, will be driving for his third team in 2011. He enters the week on a hot streak of sorts at Oxford after finishing second in this year’s TD Bank Oxford 250 as the runner-up to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch.

THE STORY
Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., looks to make it two ACT Late Model Tour victories in a row when the Tour heads to the Q 97.9 ACT 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, August 20. Hoar has five wins this season in his pursuit of his record eighth career ACT championship after winning the inaugural ACT All-Star Challenge at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last weekend. Hoar has never won at Oxford, though he he has not finished outside the Top-5 in two starts at the track this season in the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge.

Barre, VT – Tucker Williams of Hyde Park picked up his fourth Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen win of the season, while Lance Rabtoy of Fairfax earned the Airborne Renegade win during Thunder Road’s Triple 50s on Thursday, August 11.
Williams led the majority of the Tiger 50 lapper, while holding off rookie of the year contender Kyle Pembroke. Williams led through several restarts including one with just five laps to go. Pembroke put up a fight on the outside but eventually slid to third as Brendan Moodie took second. Scott Coburn and Dylan Payea completed the top five. Jason Allen, Eric Badore, current point leader Derrick O’Donnell, Matt Potter and Shawn Fleury completed the top ten. (more…)
