Barre, VT – Graniteville’s John Donahue and Montpelier’s Dave Pembroke are tied atop the Thunder Road Late Model point standings with just three point counting events left on the schedule. Donahue is aiming for his first “King of the Road” title, while Pembroke looks for his second.
The two have taken very different paths to the top in 2011. Donahue and his National Guard team started off the season on fire, winning the Memorial Day Classic and following it up just three races later with a win in the Vermont Governor’s Cup. Donahue has been the point leader for the majority of the season and lead by as much as 46 points. He hasn’t been lower than second in the standings all year. (more…)
Barre, VT – Veteran Matt White of Northfield earned his fourth career Thunder Road Late Model win on WDEV/Calkins Portable Toilets Night on Thursday, July 28. White came from the third starting position and survived a fourth caution 50 lap event to pick up his first win of the season. He held off Mike Bailey, who came home second.
Lt. Governor Phil Scott worked his way from the 14th starting spot and got around Cris Michaud late to take third. Michaud and second place point man Dave Pembroke completed the top five. Reno Gervais, Trampas Demers, Joey Becker, rookie Jimmy Hebert, and Cody Blake rounded out the top five. (more…)

Joey Polewarczyk makes a return trip, along with any other Championship caliber teams to the racy 1/3 mile oval, situated in Scarborough, Maine. Joey simply says, “Well, this is where the magic started for us last year” (more…)

Waterbury, VT – Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (BRMS) in Scarborough, ME is perhaps the most neutral track the American Canadian Tour (ACT) visits during the season-long touring campaign. There will be no weekly teams that enter the event; by design, it might be compared to Oxford Plains Speedway, but veterans will tell you that is not true; it races as good as any track the Tour visits; and the atmosphere from the staff and management to the fans is first class. The food is also some of the best. (more…)
