Barre, VT – Veteran driver Dennis Demers of Shelburne, VT takes home the win on Harvest Equipment Night’s stock car event at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. Demers took the green on the outside pole and battled another veteran, Robbie Crouch during the early stages of the 50 lap feature. Crouch fought off third place finisher Phil Scott for the runner-up position. Joey Becker and Trampas Demers rounded out the top five, while Brooks Clark, Jean-Paul Cyr, Grant Folsom, Matt White, and Eric Chase finished in the top ten.

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) defending Champion Patrick Laperle from St Denis, Quebec has entered the CARQUEST Vermont Governor’s Cup 150 on June 25th at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT. Laperle not only won his first ACT US title at the ¼ mile bullring in 2008, but he has a knack for winning the big shows at what many call the toughest quarter mile in America. Laperle is defending Champion of the 2008 Chittenden Milk Bowl, which he also won in 2006.

Ottawa, ON – Sean Kennedy of Dunrobin, ON won the Toromont CAT 100 at his hometrack, Capital City Speedway. Kennedy took the lead from another local Matt Moffiitt on lap 25 and never looked back. The Capital City Speedway regulars used their experience on the third-mile oval to their advantage and two of them finished in the top five.

Barre, VT – Dave Pembroke of Montpelier, VT takes home the first Late Model stock car weekly event on Ferguson Waterworks Night at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. Pembroke outran runner up finisher Nick Sweet of Barre, VT to capture his second straight feature win at the Barre high-banks of Thunder Road. Pembroke’s previous win came at Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic in May. For the first points counting event of the 2009 Thunder Road Late Model season, a draw and +/- system were used. Pembroke used it to his advantage by capturing a +6 in his heat race.

Waterbury, VT – With its S347JR engine approved for competition on the American Canadian Tour (ACT) and its affiliate weekly series tracks, Ford Racing has announced a contingency program to support the Ford racers in these series. Racers in the US ACT Late Model Tour, Canadian Serie ACT Castrol Tour, as well as weekly Late Model series at ACT-approved affiliate tracks will be eligible for awards contingent on the use of the M-6007-S347JR Sealed Racing engine. The payouts for the series are as follows:

Waterford, CT (June 8, 2009) – Late Model teams at Waterford Speedbowl will have Saturday June 13th off from NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action. The ACT Late Model Tour visits the historic shoreline oval for a 100-lap event however, which some ‘Bowl competitors are hoping to provide some home cooking in.
