Walpole, NH- The Granite State Pro Stock Series competitors will have one more car to beat at the Seacoast 100 at Lee USA Speedway this Friday, July 25th.
American-Canadian Tour point leader Joey Polewarczyk, JR has entered the Seacoast 100 in hopes to make it two-for-two with the GSPSS in his career.
The Hudson, NH native has one win under his belt with the GSPSS, a victory at the now closed Canaan Fair Speedway in 2013, and is looking to double that total at Lee. “We are definitely going to try and go two-for-two with the GSPSS,” says Polewarczyk, JR. “I think we will have a good car so we will see what happens. No matter where you race or what you race, it’s always tough to get a win, but we will certainly try our hardest.”

Walpole, NH- The famed Lee USA Speedway will host the Granite State Pro Stock Series for the first time ever on Friday, July 25th.
The 3/8 mile, semi-banked oval has always been a favorite with racers, and now the Granite State Pro Stock Series will be a part of the track’s storied history. The usual suspects have already entered the Seacoast 100, including Derek Griffith, Matt Frahm, Larry Gelinas, the O’Sullivan brothers, Barry Gray, Dillon Moltz, and Brad Babb, and are joined by drivers like George Helliwell, Bobby Cabral, Babe Branscombe, and Joey Squeglia. Squeglia had set fast time in practice at the Star 100 at Star Speedway just a few weeks ago, but suffered bad luck in the feature, leaving the Derry, NH driver without the results he deserved.

Walpole, NH- With four races into the books on the 2014 season, it’s time for the resident stat-geek to take a look at the numbers for the Granite State Pro Stock Series.
The series has already raced at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Monadnock Speedway, Hudson International Speedway, and Star Speedway all before July. The schedule continues July 25th, as the series heads to Lee for the first time ever, and continues at Monadnock, Star, Hudson, White Mountain Motorsports Park, and concludes at the World Series at Thompson once more. With Lee and WMMP being the wildcards in the chase for the championship, as the series has never visited either facility, each race left is more important than ever.
There have been four different winners in four races to begin 2014. Mike O’Sullivan tied Matt Frahm’s career win total by picking up the win at the Icebreaker at TSMP, but Frahm upped the ante once more by winning the very next race at Monadnock. Larry Gelinas continued his torrid run by picking up the victory at Hudson, while Jeremy Davis returned to the GSPSS in style by grabbing the checkers at Star. This trend is actually the norm with the GSPSS, as there has only been one driver that has picked up more than one victory in a season. That driver? Matt Frahm in 2013.

Walpole, NH- Larry Gelinas is firing on all cylinders to begin the 2014 season, and looks to keep the pressure on as the Granite State Pro Stock Series head to Star Speedway June 28.
The Buxton, ME driver has started the new season where he left off in 2013. Gelinas has finished in the top two positions in 5 of his last 6 races, dating back to Riverside Speedway (NH) last year. His second at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and Monadnock Speedway compliment his win last Sunday at Hudson International Speedway to begin the season quite nicely. Even with his early season success, Gelinas is not ready to engage the cruise control. “You can’t take it for granted,” states Gelinas. “We’ve been lucky to not have mechanical issues so far, but hopefully we can keep doing this!”

Hudson, NH – Hometown racer Derek Griffith put on a show during the Granite State Pro Stock Series’ Gate City Classic from the fast ¼-mile oval of Hudson International Speedway in Hudson, NH.
Griffith started 8th in his heat race and ran into trouble in the early going. Derek ended up finishing near the tail of the field in his heat race. This relegated Griffith to start 19th in the 20 car pro-stock field.
The No. 12 MOM’s of Manchester/LCM Racing/Tyngsboro Motors Toyota Camry did not waste any time picking off cars, one-by-one during the 100 lap event.
Derek was running in the top-5 for much of the race and took over the lead on lap 34 and led the field for a number of laps. This was to the delight of his hometown fans.
