New England’s Best Racers Ready To Duel With South Counterparts At Easter Bunny 150

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 23) – While short track racing appears to be on the verge of a renaissance, one very bright spot over the last decade has been the immergence of the Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway. As it has since 2006, the Easter Bunny 150 Presented By MyComputerCareer will pit some of the best Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models racers from across North America against one another at one of the most legendary short tracks in the country. With 26 cars already entered, this year’s race has added importance as the top five finishers at Hickory will each receive guaranteed starting positions for either the 45th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in August or the inaugural Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway in October. It will be an action-packed weekend of racing at Hickory Motor Speedway that will see the fastest cars in the South compete as the PASS Super Late Models will be joined by the entertaining SMRS Tour Modifieds.

33rd ACT Season Opener Approaching Fast at Lee USA

Waterbury, VT – With the 2018 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) season less than four weeks away, anticipation is building quickly for the upcoming campaign. The Late Model stars of the Northeastern U.S. and Quebec will flock to Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 15 for the 28th New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150. It will mark the 33rd season of competition for the historic series since its founding in 1986 by the late Tom Curley.

 

The event has been the scheduled ACT Late Model Tour opener for more than a decade and regularly draws one of the largest fields on the schedule. This year’s 150-lap event at the 1/3-mile oval figures to once again be an ultra-competitive affair as teams fight to start the 2018 season on a high note.

Thunder Road Legend Harold Hanaford Dies at Age 89

Barre, VT – Harold “Hard Luck” Hanaford, one of the early stars of Thunder Road and a legend of New England auto racing, passed away on Saturday, March 17 after a lengthy illness. Hanaford was 89 years old.

The Plymouth, NH native remains best known as the inaugural winner of the Vermont Milk Bowl in 1962. He added a second Milk Bowl championship in 1964 behind the wheel of his famous purple #30 Ford flathead coupe. It was the same year that he captured the first of back-to-back “King of the Road” titles.

Matt Craig Powers To 3rd Straight PASS South Win At Caraway

SOPHIA, NC (March 18) – Matt Craig led flag-to-flag Sunday afternoon to score his third straight Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win at Caraway Speedway in the RGS Products 125.  Craig’s win moves him to fourth on the all-time PASS South winners’ list, just one win behind Jay Fogleman.

            In qualifying, Tate Fogleman bested Brandon Setzer for his second quick qualifying time of the season with a lap of 16.473 seconds (99.435 MPH).  But, the top 10 qualifiers redraw would not be kind to Fogleman, moving him back to the ninth starting positionwhile fellow championship contenders, Craig and Kodie Conner, would move to the front row for the start. PASS South To Headline “MegaShow” At Caraway On Sunday

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 14) – After being delayed a week due to weather, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models will return to action Sunday afternoon at Caraway Speedway. The RGS Products 125 will pair two of the regions premier touring divisions as the PASS South Super Late Models will be joined by the season opening event for the Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) Tour Modifieds. With the last weekend’s cancellation, officials from PASS and Caraway Speedway decided to take this already huge weekend of racing up another notch by also including the 602 Super Limiteds, 602 Modifieds, and Limited Late Models to create a huge day of short track action on Sunday.
