5th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational Posts $7,500-to-Win

Bond Auto ACT InvitationalWaterbury, VT – When the forty-three American Canadian Tour Late Model teams hit the track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 21 for the 5th annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational, they will battle for the $7,500 winner purse. It will be the most ever awarded to the victor and more than double the amount posted for the inaugural event back in 2009.

The early favorites to claim the top prize have to be the past winners on the “Magic Mile.” Veteran ACT competitor Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH earned the Invitational win back in 2010. He finished third in last year’s event and is currently the hottest driver on the 2013 American Canadian Tour. He has already earned three Tour wins this season plus captured the inaugural International 500 victory back in July. He has never finished outside the top ten in this event and with a win this year he could pocket over $9,000 after bonuses.

Hickory Offers A Lot As PASS South Pilots Eye Over The Mountain 150

PASS RacingCHARLOTTE, NC (September 10) – As the temperatures begin to cool and the days shorten, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model teams know it’s time to for their second trip of the season to Hickory Motor Speedway. The Over The Mountain 150 Presented By CV Products is always a favorite stop for the South’s top short track touring drivers. Hickory has long been a stomping ground for some stock car racing’s most talented drivers. And, for PASS South Super Late Model racers, it has been a place that both veteran and young drivers could show case their talents.

Jared Irvan first stepped behind the wheel of a PASS South Super Late Model at last year’s Over The Mountain 150. Driving a black and red #28 reminiscent of the Havoline paint schemes his father Ernie piloted from 1993 through 1997, young Jared was impressive throughout the weekend ultimately finishing seventh in his series debut. After a slow start to the 2013 season, Irvan has come on strong as of late finishing third at Caraway Speedway in May and falling just short of his first win by finishing second to Ross Kenseth at South Boston Speedway. Despite his recent success, Irvan knows that racing can be cruel at times. After all, he failed to qualify at this year’s Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory.

Welch Wins Final Canaan Race, Crazy Horse Cars Fast At NHMS

SOUTH PARIS, Maine – Don Wentworth of Otisfield, Maine, is a veteran stock car driver who won’t quibble with one inevitable truth in short-track racing: It’s better to finish strong than it is to sputter to the finish line and spend all winter trying to figure out what went wrong.

Wentworth made sure he put a solid capper on the 2013 season at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, posting a pair of podium finishes in the final two events of the inaugural Pro Late Model season at the track. Wentworth won the 40-lap feature at Oxford on August 30.
