Barre, VT – The Thunder Road International Speedbowl season is in full swing just in time for three big events in the next two weeks. After a series of rain postponements, Thunder Road’s stars seem to finally be in rhythm as they head into the Monday, July 4th special Pepsi Holiday Fireworks event. Barre, VT – East Montpelier’s Cris Michaud rebounded from a rough start to the 2011 season with his 17th career Late Model feature win at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT on Thursday, June 30. The three-time “King of the Road” started on the pole and held off sophomore driver Cody Blake and veterans Jamie Aube and Jamie Fisher on several restarts to earn the win. Fisher would settle for second and Blake completed the podium. Matt White and Aube rounded out the top five. (more…)
MILTON, Vt. – Coming off an impressive Top-5 finish at Thunder Road International Speedbowl last Sunday afternoon, Brent Dragon feels like his combined effort this season is finally rounding into form.
Dragon, who during the offseason combined his Dragon Motorsports No. 55 Furniture World of VT/Beverage Mart/Charlesbois Freightliner Chevrolet team with Avery Motorsports, said he believes that the learning curve for the dual focus is about to hit its stride as the summer stretch of racing commences. THE STORY
Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, looks to turn his bad luck around when the PASS North Series heads to the Firecracker 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, July 2. Sommerville, who is coming off back-to-back finishes outside of the Top-10 thanks to mechanical woes, has never competed at the facility – but his Mulkern Racing No. 48 A.E. McKay Builders/Community Pharmacies Chevrolet team is the defending champion of this event. The event kicks off a busy stretch for the PASS North Series, with the race serving as the first of three events in an 11-day stretch.
Canaan, NH- Stock Car Driver Joey Polewarczyk announced earlier this month that the Pro All-Star Series (PASS) Super Late Model Race, hosted by Canaan Speedway dubbed the “Firecracker 150” was circled on his calendar.
Polewarczyk Jr, a Hudson, NH native has never made a Super Late Model start at the fast 1/3-mile speedway but he feels his recent victory in the Inaugural Subway Fresh Fit 150 Late Model race will give him the added confidence to ensure a great finish. (more…)
