Barre, VT – The Thursday, August 25 race program at Thunder Road International Speedbowl presented by Aubuchon Hardware/Benjamin Moore Paints has been postponed due to rain. The event has been rescheduled for Friday, August 26 with post time remaining at 6:30pm.
The event will be the final point counting race for the Late Models. The “King of the Road” will be crowned following a special 100-lap feature. Dave Pembroke currently sits atop the standings and is trailed by John Donahue, Nick Sweet and Phil Scott. (more…)
ANDREW CROSBY VICTORIOUS IN LITTLE ENDURO RACE AT 95
Andrew Crosby of Hermon took the lead on the second lap of the caution free Little Enduro feature at Speedway 95 Wednesday night and drove away from the remainder of the 20 car field, finishing a quarter lap ahead of second place Jeremy Scott of Carmel, who notched his first top three finish of the season. Ted Ryder of Carmel came from the rear of the field to finish third, followed by outside pole sitter Garett Hayman of Milford, who finished fourth. Darren Durrell, the current points leader with one week of racing left, finished fifth. Pole sitter Chad Badger of Milo was sixth, followed by Russell Blenkhorn of Bucksport, the only other drivers to finish on the lead lap. (more…)
Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) stars will find the competition the toughest of the 2011 race season when they return to Thunder Road for the 33rd running of the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic on Sunday, September 4th. A field of over 40 of the best Late Model racers in the region will attempt to qualify for the $5000 to win, $40,000 summer holiday classic, including some of the best weekly racers in New England. Barre, VT – After a summer long battle the 2011 Thunder Road Late Model Champion will be crowned this Thursday, August 25 with a 100 lap finale presented by Aubuchon Hardware and Benjamin Moore Paints.
The “King of the Road” title has been narrowed down to four contenders. Dave Pembroke of Montpelier currently sits atop the standings and will attempt to secure his second career title after winning back in 2007. Pembroke used back-to-back wins including the Mid-Season Championship to pull himself back from an 88 point deficit. (more…)
