Steve Perry the host of Mainely Motorsports TV, is always telling you the news from the race tracks here in Maine and through out New England but, this story is about his daughter Alicia. Unlike her dad she is very shy and quiet, though once she’s behind the wheel, her performance on the track tells the tale.

She got her start in racing when her dad took her to a indoor kart race, “I really liked it so I asked my dad if I could try it and, I really liked it.” Though she lets her dad do all the work on the car as his role of crew chief.

Emma Libby a teen with class.

Emma Libby from Hudson, ME regularly races at Speedway 95 but there was no racing because of the “Monster Jam”, so Emma made the trip to Unity Raceway this past weekend to compete in the teen’s class. Emma is only 13 years old and is ready to take on Maine’s Toughest Track.

Emma’s Uncle Doug, drove the 23 car for a number of years and now it’s her turn to go fast! Her dad does all the work as the crew chief and mechanic.

AOW Modifieds Start 2011 Season at Petty

The AOW Modified Tour started their 2011 season at Petty International Raceway in River Glade, NB on Saturday June 4 as a support class for the Lucas Oil 100 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour event.

A huge crowd was on hand, and the 20-lap AOW Modified feature didn’t lack in excitement, as #64 Paul Costain (Moncton, NB) picked up his first ever AOW Modified feature win. 2009 & 2010 AOW Modified points champion #98 Mike “Sparky” Raeburn (Hampton, NB) finished a strong 2nd, while #48 Jamie Brown (St. Martin’s NB) had another of his many strong finishes coming 3rd.

The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models made their annual trip to Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, North Carolina, for the “Orange Blossom Special 125” on Saturday, June 4th. After 125 laps of intense racing, Roger Lee Newton drove his machine to victory lane for his first series win, the seventh-different winner of the 2011 PASS South season.

Folsom claims victory at Unity Raceway

Unity, Maine – Skowhegan’s David Folsom I made his first visit to victory lane this season following an exciting 35-lap main event in the Late Model division, topping Saturday night’s racing card at Unity Raceway.

Folsom held off a late challenge by Jeff Burgess of East Madison, the winner of the first two races in the top class this season, to claim victory. Burgess patiently worked his way into contention after starting in ninth position after watching a healthy share of aggressive racing in front of him during the race’s early laps.

Jeff White Takes First ACT Win in Big JAB 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway

Oxford, ME – Winthrop, Maine’s Jeff White earned his first career American Canadian Tour win in dominant fashion at his hometrack of Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, June 4. White led all but three laps in the Big JAB 150 while battling with seven time and defending ACT Champion Brian Hoar.

Hoar held on for second followed by Brent Dragon, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. and another Oxford regular TJ Brackett rounding out the top five. Shawn Martin completed the three Oxford regulars in the top ten with a sixth. Wayne Helliwell was the biggest mover in the 150 lap event as he came all the way from 32nd to finished seventh. Eric Chase, Jeff Labrecque, Jr., and 2010 ACT Rookie of the Year Brad Babb completed the top ten. (more…)
