PASS South Title Contenders Hope To Get Back On Track at Hickory

CHARLOTTE, NC (September 22) – In order to become a championship contender, you first have to race well and hopefully win a race or two along the way.  Well for the drivers in contention for the 2008 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model championship that is true, with a few notable exceptions.  In particular, the last two races.  At both the Caraway (NC) Speedway and the Newport (TN) Speedway, the championship chasers have been eliminated due to a myriad of problems.

Shaw Shines in PASS 400 Weekend Mod Feature

NAPLES ME  (September 22, 2008) The PASS Mods added extra distance for Sundays’ PASS 400 weekend feature at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, and Andy Shaw returned to victory lane for the first time since the PASS Mod opener at the Scarborough Maine oval. Shaw claimed the lead on lap seventeen and dominated the remaining thirty three laps for the convincing win. Troy Morse raced home second, with PASS Mod newcomer Glen Bradbury third, Rod Henry fourth and Tom Oliver fifth.

PASS North: Johnny Clark cashes in at Beech Ridge

Naples ME – (September 21,2008) Johnny Clark won two races at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon. The first was off pit road when he beat the field back to the speedway on lap 258, and the second came when the checkered flag flew on lap 295 of the rain-shortened PASS 300. Clark led the final 42 laps toclaim the $10,000.00 victory over Adam Bates and Kelly Moore in a race that was short on cautions (six), with plenty of long green flag runs and battles for position throughout the thirty-five car field on every lap.

Lacombe Takes St-Eustache 300, Gingras Clinches Castrol Championship

      ST-EUSTACHE, QC – Sylvain Lacombe earned his fourth consecutive St-Eustache 300 victory in the Serie ACT-Castrol Late Model stock car season finale at Autodrome St-Eustache near Montreal on Saturday night.  Alexandre Gingras of Val-Belair, QC narrowly clinched his first series championship after a rough outing, finishing 17th unofficially to beat Karl Allard by just three points.

Almirola Wins Dover Race; Kobyluck Wraps Up Title

DOVER, Del. (Sept. 19, 2008) – Matt Kobyluck won his first NASCAR championship Friday at Dover International Speedway, while Aric Almirola earned the win in his first appearance in the NASCAR Camping World Series East.

Kobyluck, the 38-year-old driver from Uncasville, Conn., clinched the NASCAR Camping World Series East title with his third-place finish in the Sunoco 150. Kobyluck also became the first Native American to win a NASCAR Camping World Series championship. He is a member of the Mohegan Tribal Nation.

PASS 400 Weekend: Pits Packed on Picture Perfect Practice Day

Scarborough ME – (September 19, 2008)   It’s a picture perfect late summer’s day at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, and 136 race teams of every description  are taking advantage of a six hour practice session for  PASS 400 Weekend. The Friday afternoon practice session coincides with race time here at the Ridge this weekend, so it’s the perfect opportunity for drivers and teams to get dialed in.
