Lacombe Gunning for Fourth Consecutive St-Eustache 300 Win, Title Contenders Seek First

       ST-EUSTACHE, QC – American Late Model stock car driver Dave Pembroke of Middlesex, VT will return to the Canadian Série ACT-Castrol for the 2008 championship finale on Saturday, Sept. 20, as the season culminates with the 14th Annual St-Eustache 300 at Autodrome St-Eustache near Montréal.  Pembroke tested the Série ACT-Castrol waters at Capital City Speedway in Ottawa, ON last year, finishing second, and will take home part of a bonus purse posted for U.S.-based drivers, plus the nearly $30,000 total race purse.

Miss Kitty to Preside as Thunder Roads Miss Milk Bowl 2008

       BERLIN, VT – Harvest Hills Miss Kitty, a lovely seven year-old registered Ayrshire dairy cow, has been named “Miss Milk Bowl 2008” and will hold court at the 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl stock car race at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road.  A beauty pageant was staged at Harvest Hills Farms in Berlin, VT, and according to Annie Burke of Harvest Hills, Miss Kitty won the title – her first – going away.

Chittenden Bank and Thunder Road Present Rookie Ride at Milk Bowl

       BURLINGTON, VT – Chittenden Bank of Vermont and Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl are offering young stock car racing fans the chance to be a part of the pre-race festivities at the 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, Sept. 28.  One lucky child age 6-12 will be selected from each of 15 participating Chittenden Bank locations to go on the “Rookie Ride” with drivers from the American-Canadian Tour Championship Late Model series on the Thunder Road highbanks at the Milk Bowl.

Joey Pole Aiming at Third-Straight Milk Bowl Pole Award

      BARRE, VT – Teenage stock car racing sensation Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, Jr. is aiming for his third
consecutive Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Pole Award at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road on Saturday, Sept. 27 to kick off the 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl weekend.  The Hudson, NH driver lived up to his nickname in each of the last two seasons during Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Time Trials, posting the fastest single-lap speed to earn the pole position starting spot for Segment 1 of the Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl.  His 2006 lap of 12.935 seconds around Thunder Road’s high-banked 1/4-mile oval stands as the Track Record for the American-Canadian Tour Late Model division.

NEMA Takes 900th Race to PASS 400 Weekend

Scarborough, ME – The Northeastern Midget Association moves on to Maine’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Saturday to take part in The PASS 400 Weekend at the historic facility. It will be the series’ 20th race at Beech Ridge and 900th feature for the 56 year old club.

Hoar to Return to Competition at Thunder Road Milk Bowl

      BARRE, VT – American-Canadian Tour Late Model stock car racing champion Brian Hoar will return to the driver’s seat at Thunder Road’s 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl on Sat./Sun., Sept. 27/28.  Hoar, 36, has been idle since the end of the 2007 season, a year in which the Williston, VT racer finished sixth in his first full season back on the ACT Late Model Tour following his fifth series championship in 2000.  He previously raced in the series now known as NASCAR Camping World East.
