NASCAR Camping World Series East Veteran Earns Fourth Career

LOUDON, N.H. (June 27, 2008) – Eddie MacDonald reached Victory Lane for the first time in 16 NASCAR Camping World Series East career starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Friday evening in the Heluva Good! Summer 125.

MacDonald (No. 71 Grimm Construction/NEMO Chevrolet) and Trevor Bayne (No. 1 Dale Earnhadt Chevrolet) traded the lead several times down the stretch before the final caution came out on lap 122. On the ensuing restart MacDonald got the jump on Bayne to pull away for the win by half a second.

Michaud Unseats Williams at Thunder Road Governor?s Cup

       BARRE, VT – Late Model stock car driver Cris Michaud of Northfield, VT made good on a prediction earlier in the week that he would finally beat Eric Williams for the CARQUEST Vermont Governor’s Cup 100 at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, VT.  The pair traded the lead back and forth during an exciting battle in the middle stages of the race before Michaud was able to take over for good on lap 67.

Tripleheader Week on Tap for ACT Late Models

       WATERBURY, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model division has a busy tripleheader on tap for this week, beginning with Thursday’s (June 26) CARQUEST Vermont Governor’s Cup 100 at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road. The Governor’s Cup is the biggest and longest-distance weekly championship event for the Late Models at Thunder Road in 2008, and will likely see a mix of regular Thursday-night competitors and invaders from the traveling ACT Late Model Tour.

Thunder Road Heavy Hitters Williams, Michaud to Square off at Governor?s Cup

BARRE, VT – Late Model stock car drivers Eric Williams and Cris Michaud will square off in dramatic
fashion at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday (June 26) at the CARQUEST Vermont Governor’s Cup 100 at 6:00pm. Williams, of Hyde Park, has won the Governor’s Cup two years running, with Michaud finishing a close second each time.  A week ago, however, Michaud, of Northfield, beat Williams for a 50-lap victory by just three feet.
