Michaud, Crouch File First Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 Entries

       BARRE, VT – Champion Late Model stock car drivers Cris Michaud and Robbie Crouch have filed the first two entries for the 30th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Sun., August 31.  Both drivers are feature winners at the historic 1/4-mile oval in 2008.  Michaud, of Northfield, VT, is in the thick of the “King of the Road” track championship battle with three victories to his credit.  Crouch, originally of Tampa, FL, earned his first Thunder Road win in nearly 20 years last month.

Thunder Road Looking to Get Back at Mother Nature on Thursday: UVMs Hybrid race car to make Thunder

       BARRE, VT – Stock car racing fans and drivers at Barre’s Thunder Road have had enough of the bad weather, and they’re looking to break free of Mother Nature’s wrath on Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Vermont ACE Hardware Dealers Trophy Dash.  Thunder Road has fallen victim to rain in each of its last four regular-event attempts, dating back to July 24.

Martin Lacombe defeated the odds in a big way on Saturday night to capture the Toromont CAT 100 at Capital City Speedway, the second Série ACT Castrol win of his career.  Lacombe has had nothing but bad luck in 2008 – at the opening event at his home track, Autodrome St-Eustache near Montréal and his hometown of Terrebonne, QC, Lacombe blew and engine in practice.  After a hasty powerplant swap, he made his way to the lead pack… then the transmission broke.

Martin Lacombe Wins Ugly Capital City 100

       OTTAWA, ON – Late Model stock car driver Martin Lacombe of Terrebonne, QC won the Toromont CAT 100 at Ottawa’s Capital City Speedway for the Serie ACT Castrol on Saturday night.  The race, delayed for two hours by an unexpected rain shower, was  marred by 22 caution periods and lasted two hours and seventeen minutes.

Thunder Road Rained Out Again

       BARRE, VT – Thunderstorms and saturated grounds have forced the postponement of the NAPA Auto Parts/Make-A-Wish stock car racing event at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday, August 7.  The event has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 28 at 6:30pm.  Inclement weather has now postponed Thunder Road events three consecutive weeks.

Vermonter Dragon Wants to Win Ottawa Race for Home Team

       OTTAWA, ON – Champion Late Model stock car driver Brent Dragon is headed “home” to Capital City Speedway in Ottawa, Ontario for Saturday’s Toromont CAT 100.  But there’s one small thing: Dragon is from Milton, Vermont, 200 miles and an international border away.  In fact, he’s never even seen Capital City Speedway.  So why is it “home”?
