SEEKONK, Mass. – Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, finished 25th in the PASS North Series PASS 150 at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Mass., on Saturday, August 6. Something broke in the rear end of the No. 73 JBJ Machine Chevrolet without warning, and Doiron retired from the event after just 50 laps. (more…)

THE STORY
Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, looks to start the season’s final stretch on a high note when the PASS North Series competes in the PASS 150 at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Mass., on Saturday, August 6. Sommerville has never competed at Seekonk Speedway, though the tight .333-mile layout is very similar to his home track in Speedway 660 where he is a multi-time race winner. The Mulkern Racing No. 48 A.E. McKay Builders Chevrolet is coming off a third-place finish at Oxford Plains Speedway in its most recent outing.

THE STORY
Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, looks to keep momentum rolling when the PASS North Series heads to the PASS 150 at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Mass., on Saturday, August 6. Doiron collected his first career Super Late Model victory in a 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway last weekend, and he’s posted one Top-5 and two Top-10 finishes in his last three PASS North Series starts. Barre, VT – Graniteville’s Chip Grenier claimed his first win of the 2011 season on Safelite Auto Glass Night at Thunder Road on Thursday, August 4. Grenier started on the outside pole, but had a hard battle with Joey Becker and then Grant Folsom during four restarts in the 50 lap event.
After the final restart on lap 34, Grenier and Folsom broke away from the field. Nick Sweet worked his way to third, while Trampas Demers came from the 16th starting position to take fourth with Becker in fifth. Cris Michaud, co-point leader Dave Pembroke, rookie Jimmy Hebert, Matt White and Derek Ming completed the top ten. (more…)
