NEMST – Star Speedway Recap

While the weather was not near as nice as opening day at Beech Ridge the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour rolled into the newly reopened Star Speedway in Epping, NH. Fighting a bleek forecast many teams from all over New England made the trek to the southern New Hampshire speedway.

Practices started off early and had much excitement with many teams having trouble with mechanical problems including Emerson Cayer having a broken steering rack. As the cars rolled through pre race technical inspection teams drew for their heat starting position. Two heat races were held for the 18 mini stocks at Star with the Volkswagens showing the pace. Calvin Rose won the first heat and Loren Smith negotiated the win from the second heat.

DEVILS’ BOWL SPRING GREEN 111 UP NEXT FOR ACT US

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) will make its first ever appearance at the fast ½ mile Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT this Sunday afternoon. The 38th running of the Spring Green 111 is expecting to have over 30 teams converge on the scenic, newly paved speed plant, built and operated by the Richards family since 1967. The inaugural event one year ago opened the renovated semi-banked progressive track with the Thunder Road ACT Late Models. The battle between local favorite Mike Bruno from nearby Rutland and former Thunder Road Champion David Pembroke was a classic 100-lap battle seen by a full house and a very enthusiastic crowd.

PASS North: Ramstrom repeats at Star

Dearborn dominates, late cautions set up wild finish

EPPING NH (5/14) – Derek Ramstrom returned to the site of his first Pro All Stars Series super late model win and claimed the lead on lap 148 of the 150 lap feature to capture his first PASS North win since July of 2009. Ben Rowe raced home in second with Joey Polewarczyk third.

Benjamin Motorsports 11th at Star Speedway

In Epping New Hampshire on Saturday night the Benjamin Motorsports team would race there second PASS North race of the season. In the qualifing race the team would finish second and the number 17 car would start 4th for the main event.

At the start of the race Travis would move quickly into second. The team would run second for the first half of the race. Just after the mid point of the race the team was in third. With just 30 laps to go the 17 car was in 4th and was getting ready to make a late race charge. Then going for third with 8 laps to go contact with another car would take the radiator out and send the Benjamin Motorsports team to work.

Dearborn Racing Recap from Star Speedway

This weekend we went back to star. We were not sure if the rain would hold out or not, but it did. The first practice there was a problem. We had to change the fuel pump, and some other stuff.

To start the second practice Richie went out and then came in for an adjustment, when he went to fire the car it wouldn’t start. To make a long story short, Richie didn’t get much practice.
