Taylor Wins Beech Ridge Battle for First ACT Victory
Scarborough, ME – Farmington, ME’s Jeff Taylor claimed his first career ACT win after a race long battle with Wayne Helliwell, Jr. in the Beech Ridge 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME on Saturday, July 30. Taylor and Helliwell, both in Ford powered rides, swapped the lead seven times from lap 44 to the checkers. The two battled not only themselves but also heavy lapped traffic during long green flag runs.
With just three cautions during the event, Helliwell seemed to have the advantage on the restarts, but Taylor had the car to beat on the long runs. After the final restart on lap 134 Taylor finally got the edge and led the final 11 laps to take the win. (more…)

Waterbury, VT – Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (BRMS) in Scarborough, ME is perhaps the most neutral track the American Canadian Tour (ACT) visits during the season-long touring campaign. There will be no weekly teams that enter the event; by design, it might be compared to Oxford Plains Speedway, but veterans will tell you that is not true; it races as good as any track the Tour visits; and the atmosphere from the staff and management to the fans is first class. Chuck Colby and Corey Bubar headline wins at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway

Scarborough, Maine- Chuck Colby scored his first NASCAR Whelan All American Series race win on Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway following the 40 lap Pro Series main event. Bob Gahan set the early pace with a tightly stacked field behind him. Gahan and Scott Moore ran 12 laps side by side through the mid point of the race. The 8 cars behind the leaders were also side by side with racing room not available. Moore powered around Gahan on lap 30 and appeared to be headed to his first win. But contact between Dan McKeage and Bob Gahan brought out the caution flag on lap 34 as Gahan got the worst end of the contact and went spinning. On the restart Moore and Colby went side by side for the lead with Colby powering to the top on lap 35 and McKeage moving to the second position. Over the final 4 laps, McKeage tried to peek inside of Colby but could not get the job done as Colby sailed under the checkered flag for the win. McKeage was second with Trevor Sanborn third. Bill Rodgers and Scott Moore were fourth and fifth. (more…)
Scott Mulkern: PASS North Series

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Scott Mulkern of Falmouth, Maine, finished 27th in the PASS North Series Southern Maine Motors.com 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 9. Despite a strong qualifying effort that gave him a ninth-place starting spot in the main event in just his second start of the season, Mulkern was caught up in a multi-car accident just 37 laps in that ended his night early. The night wasn’t an entire loss, however, as the full-time Mulkern Racing entry of Lonnie Sommerville posted its first win of the season..
