ANDREW MCLAUGHLIN WINS IKEY DORR RACE AT 9 SPEEDWAY 95

Speedway 95Andrew McLaughlin of Harrington made it two for two as he won the annual Ikey Dorr Memorial Street Stock race at Speedway 95 for the second year in a row. This win was a lot harder than last years as Jim Carr Jr. of Clifton stayed on the inside of McLaughlin from a lap 5 restart until McLaughlin finally pulled to the lead following a red flag incident on lap 33. The pair raced side by side, swapping the lead and picking up $25.00 in lap money each time they led at the stripe. The final restart occurred on lap 33 when Bernie Thayer of Hermon exploded his motor going into turn one and rolling over after hitting the dirt berm. Pole-sitter Chris Jacobson of Seabrook N.H. and Duane Dunifer of Carmel were also eliminated from the event as they spun in Thayer’s oil and ended up on the dirt berm with Thayer. McLaughlin took the lead from Carr on that restart and led the rest of the way to the victory. Carr finished a close second with Adam Chadbourne of Woolwich right behind Carr in third. Carl McAlpine of Burnham finished fourth with Dave Brannon of Lisbon in fifth. Twenty-two of the twenty-five cars entered in the event that paid $1500.00 to the winner took the green flag. The complete finishing order was not available as this report was written.

Teras gets the Karting Trifecta

Story by Chris RoyThis past weekend Austin Teras hit the Trifecta as he won three different races, at 3 different tracks, on three different days. “It was fun and amazing! It was a great opportunity. It was difficult because I raced 3 different karts. It was also very hot! I had to drink a lot of water and Gatorade!”

On Friday night Austin to the checkered flag at Oxford Plains Speedway, Saturday he raced at Thundering Valley where he took home win number 2. Then on Sunday he completed the trifecta with his win at Richmond Karting Speedway. As Austin explains the 3 different race tracks are complete different from one another, “Oxford track is very small and bumpy, Thundering Valley is big and very flat, and Richmond is fast and smooth, These 3 tracks have nothing in common.”

Dragon slays PASS field at Beech Ridge

PASS Racing

First PASS win for second generation racer – Darveau wires PASS Mod main

Scott Dragon drove by Kelly Moore on lap 113 of Saturday night’s PASS North Southern Maine Motors.com 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and checked out to earn his first career PASS super late model victory. Trevor Sanborn made a successful return to Beech Ridge, finishing second . Kirk Thibeau finished third despite an electrical issue that dropped him back in the field on several occasions. Moore hung on for fourth and Cassius Clark raced home in the fifth position.

It looked like it might be Moore’s night much of the way in a race that was short on cautions and long on great battles throughout the field. Bill Rodgers led the first sixteen laps before Moore took over and the veteran stayed out front for nearly two thirds of the laps. But the torrid pace seemed to take a toll on his ride. DJ Shaw challenged Moore for the first hundred laps until Dragon took up the challenge, making his move on Shaw on a restart. Fifteen laps later the was out front, delivering the first PASS win for the team.
