ANDREW CROSBY TAKE 95 LITTLE ENDURO RACE

Hermon’s Andrew Crosby led the entire distance of the 20 lap Little Enduro feature event at Speedway 95 Wednesday night, but only by inches most of the way. David Ogden of Old Town was either right on Crosby’s bumper or right beside him all the way from the green to the checker, but was unable to make the pass that would put him in first place. Ogden finished a close second, followed by last year’s champion Paul Higgins of Newburgh. Chris Carroll of Green bush finished fourth, with Hampden’s Travis Beale in fifth. Twenty-one cars attempted to start the event, but a red flag fell before all the cars crossed the start-finish line. David Ogden got spun on the start, and did a 360 in front of the pack, but recovered to put on a great show dueling for the lead. Only A.J. Jordan of Hermon could not continue following the first lap melee.

Oxford Plains Speedway Racing 6-12-10

OXFORD, Maine – Dennis Spencer, Jr. made up for the first few weeks of mid-pack finishes with a dominating performance in the Oxford Networks Late Model Feature on Sun Journal Night. Spencer, Jr. made the move around pole sitter and race leader Al Hammond on lap 8, and opened up a sizable lead on the field. Scott Luce moved into second a few laps later and gave chase, but could not get any closer than within a few car lengths of the Spencer’s speedy #3. Tommy Ricker once again put on a strong performance as he charged through the field. Ricker moved up to 12th by lap 15, and jumped to 7th by lap 22. With just 10 laps to go he caught third place runner Tim Brackett, who made another strong run in his #60 before getting passed by Ricker for the third and final podium spot with just 5 circuits remaining. A WILD WEEKEND IN WISCASSET!

(Wiscasset, ME) The new Knox Brothers Carquest and Ray Haskell Ford Enduro divisions held the spotlight this past Sunday at The Wiscasset Raceway. The all classes Enduro feature was won by #32 Kevin Morse of Woolwich who passed #14 Justin White of Wiscasset with just a handful of laps to go in the 30 lap feature. There was also the first sighting of the much anticipated racing mini-vans! It was discovered that they can apparently spin out 360 degrees and recover just fine. The real excitement came when #83, Mike St. Germain of Auburn was bumped by one of the mini vans right in front  of the grandstands. The #83 Enduro hit the wall, was lifted in the air and landed on it’s roof! Mike St. Germain immediately scrambled out of the car and bowed to the crowd. Then he gestured to the track crew who helped him flip the car back over and continued the race in his smoking #83! Mike certainly embodies the spirit of the Enduro racer. What a great race. Join us next Sunday for more Enduro action!

Ricker Goes From Back to Front

Marshall Survives Mini Stock Melee

OXFOR, Maine – Two Lap Tommy Ricker held true to his nickname, as he completed a pass on the outside of Jeff White for the lead with just two laps remaining, on his way to the win on Sunoco Race Fuels Night. Ricker charged from his starting spot in the second to last row, and worked his #6 Oxford Network Late Model up to ninth just 13 laps into the race. Jeff White took the early lead, taking off from his outside pole starting spot to take the point. Two yellow flags involving Gary Chiasson, brought the field together and negated the lead White had opened up on the rest of the field. On the lap 34 restart, Ricker drew alongside White, and beat him to the line before completing the pass a few laps later.  Jeff White finished second after leading ¾ of the race. Tim Brackett piloted his ill-handling car to a solid third place run.

Top 22 Beech Ridge Finish for Rookie Dunbar and the Youth Move Maine Racing Team

Lisbon, Me…..

21 cars attempted to qualify for the Beech Ridge race. Finishing in 22nd due to fuel pump issues the #45 Youth Move Maine, Autism Society of Maine Chevy, was stuck in the pits. It was deemed by NASCAR and Travis Dunbar that it was not safe for the #45 to hit the track without a practice run to shake the car down. The team worked very hard to make the race and was ready to go in the pits. Travis Dunbar gave NASCAR a lot of credit for being safety conscious and giving him last place points to stay in the points hunt.
