Waterbury, VT – As American Canadian Tour Late Model teams from across New England and Eastern Canada prepare for the biggest showdown of the summer at the International 500 at Airborne Speedway on Sat/Sun, July 20/21, another division prepares for battle: Airborne Speedway’s own Ernie Tool’s Modified division.
The Plattsburgh, NY Speedway’s headline division, which consists of the thunderous 358 Modified cars, will pound the pavement for twin 50-lap events with the lowest point total taking the victory. The winner will take home a cool $3,000: the biggest purse of the Modified’s season at Airborne. It will serve as a key mid-summer points race towards their 2013 championship hopes.

When the green flags waves to open the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 16, Eddie MacDonald and the entire Grimm Racing team will have added meaning for the event. The #71 will proudly display the National Multiple Sclerosis Society logo on the rear quarter panels in support of MS Awareness Week running March 11-17 during the Bristol 125 on “The World’s Fastest Half Mile.” This disease recently hit close to home in the Grimm Racing family when Megan Spaulding, the daughter of team owners Karla and Rob Grimm, was diagnosed with MS.
“Rob and Karla have been so supportive of our racing efforts, it’s time for our entire race team and fans to support them and Megan at this time,” said the veteran driver. “We have been working very hard to prepare our new car for Bristol to run well and set the tone for the season. Now we are more determined to have a great finish for Megan and raise awareness for MS. Like many people, we knew of the disease but knew little about it. Now that it has affected a member of our family, we will do whatever we can to help.”

With the first open practice rapidly approaching, the Granite State Pro Stock Series staff continues to put together additional contingencies for the upcoming season. Mike Parks announced this week that Bond Auto Parts, Sunoco Race Fuels and Sherwood Racing Wheels will continue to support the second year group of Pro Stock competitors.
“These companies staying with us are paramount to the success of this series.” Parks stated.
Bond Auto Parts operates over 40 auto parts stores in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and will provide a $200.00 gift certificate for their stores to the competitors who finish as the last car on the lead lap. Said Mark Mast, who is the Marketing Director for Bond Auto Parts, “The Granite State Pro Stock Series reaches all of our marketing area so it’s a natural fit”. Heading into Vermont for the first time on Friday, June 14 when the series visits Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the first time and crossing the border south to the Thompson International Speedway for the season opener Icebreaker on April 13 and 14, and season ending World Series on Saturday October 19 certainly puts them through the Bond Auto Parts territory, not to mention the eight visits throughout the state of New Hampshire. You can find more information on Bond Auto Parts at www.bondauto.com.
